Let's say we have a certain equivalence relation R on the set A. We also have two transformations (f and g) such that for every member of A (let's call it x) f(x) and g(x) are also members of A.
Now, we define a new relation on A called S that is defined as follows:
For any two members of A (a and b) that maintain the relation R (i.e - aRb), aSb if and only if f(a) and g(b) also maintain the relation R (i.e - f(a)Rg(b)).
My question is this:
What requirements must f and g satisfy in order for S to be an equivalence relation as well?

Thanks for the help, I seem to be in over my head.

Wrong board, /sci/ is for QI and religion, you have a better chance on /pol/ or /b/ (I'm serious, especially for /pol/) if you have a question that require more than high school knowledge.

To answer partly to your question you need that :
-f(a) R g(a) for every a in A
-f(a) R g(b) and f(b) R g(a) for every a,b in A
>>
>>9077817
thanks man, guess I should have known better haha
naturally you also need that if f(a) R g(b) and f(b) R g(c) then f(a) R g(c) for every a, b and c in A.

But I'm actually looking for less trivial requirements for f and g. It's a tough question I guess, but I can't think of more requirements or properties f and g might have.

are you confused about why applying a force moves a load?
>>

the inclined plane
>>
>>9077404
ok you know how the gravitational force is always pointing down right? well the component that's actually active against your force will only be a component that's perpendicular to the inclined plane. alongside that, the normal force is going to be counteracting the initial startup of movement, but only the component that's perpendicular to the plane agan. these are all broken down using right triangles. you can also use the dot product depending on how comfortable you are. i can draw a graph to give a better explanation.

What's the science behind NoFap?

It's extremely difficult to discuss.

On the one hand, you have twelve year olds passionately defending masturbation. Teenagers complaining about religion, missing the point entirely. Normies, being morons and mentioning prostate cancer studies they have never read, and which have no NoFap group to compare the different masturbation groups to.

On the other hand, you have overly earnest redditors who don't understand what they are doing but who, like, feel really REALLY strongly about it, y'know? Virgins who should not be talking about their non-existent sexualities. People with zinc deficiencies who suddenly feel better not shooting out wads of what little zinc they had in the first place. The occasional yokel who thinks this backs up his vague puritanical beliefs about sex. And whole boatloads of confirmation bias with no scientific rigor whatsoever - I think the use of the phrase "superpowers" to refer to the effects of NoFap is the single most reddit turn of phrase in human history, the single most gawky, dorky, overly earnest and stupid phrase in human history. But I'm sure they can do worse, given enough time.

What's the goddamned science, /sci/?

I am actually interested in this subject, and not approaching it out of weird desperation. I have sex, sometimes. It is unsatisfying. I'm curious if I can enjoy it better. But I need to know that I'm not kidding myself like some yokel from Reddit. What are the hormonal effects?

How does the brain turn mechanical waves into feelings?
>>
>>9074081
I don't know, personally.

I assume you're talking about sound waves hear, judging from the OP picture.

I did find those short article on music and the brain <http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/bb/neuro/neuro99/web1/Sancar.html>. It's from the 90s, I'm not sure of it's value, but you can look into the papers it cites if you want to be sure of it's scientific validity.

It seems that the brain is specifically geared towards recognizing logical patterns, and patterns in music are everywhere. If you care to examine how music develops patterns, I'd recommend reading "Fundamentals of Musical Composition" by Arnold Schoenberg, which details methods of creating patterns by repeating and varying single melodies. It is a book written for classical composers, bu the general idea holds across all music, including non-Western music.

I'm not a scientist, and I'm no the best composer or musician, but I hope I've been of some help.

finally got the PhD but now I can't keep up with my projects.

It's of course related to doing a 40 hour job now, but there's also social media I think I should do to break out of basic wage life, and that crypto shit which magically seems to be a money machine. I try to combine that with dependently typed memes as good as I can, but I must somehow externalize some capacities. Maybe I'll find a schedule that works for me and then I'd like to do time series and probability, as this relates to everything.

How does /sci/ focus.

I need some advice guys, I really feel like shit right now, I know that I easily process information and that's why I let everything to the last minute.

The problem is that I failed my exams because of that.

I am really hoping for real advice.

Whay kind of music should I listen to while studying.

I tried binaurals sounds (share if you have good ones) it does really work, but my heartbeat increase really fast idk if it's good ?

Should I drink tea to relax.

I really need to hyper, laser focus at least 5 hours a day, that would be more than excellent.

You don't process information really fast, that's why you failed your exams

Just look up pomodoro method. Build the discipline of high focus for 3-4 hours at a time by starting with just 1 hour of high focus. It's like a muscle, you have to build it up. It's not an easy fix, it's discipline. Also you procrastinate because you're scared you won't be as smart as you think you are, because studying involves trying and nothing is more humiliating to you than trying your best and failing anyway.

Now fuck off

What's the evolutionary purpose behind modern blacks having big black penises? They haven't been constantly exposed to sunlight to warrant a high melanin production, unlike tribes in Africa. How long before they're white?

It's so that white women had an alternative to small white dicks, of course. Are you little dumb, son?

Evolution does not work like that.
But they are still around, so it served them well, apparently.
That's how it works.
Evolution has no will, purpose or path, only traceable history.
>>
>>9078698
It would be energetically sensible though. Isn't evolution about optimization, to most extents?

This beg the question, why the fuck do you browse reddit?

By design, reddit is about attention whoring as much as you want. If you do not want to deal with attention whores then get out of reddit, facebook, instagram and similar social networks. There are so many different chans online that it makes no sense to use a typical social network. That is like eating soup with a dildo and then complaining that there is a dick in your soup.
