Guys do you think that exist mathematical theorems that are unprovable, that there is now way that you can prove that theorem no matter what you do.
3 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>9080953
Gõdel proved it, so it must be true.
>>
>>9080953
the easy answer to your question is no, because it's not a theorem unless you prove it

Suppose that E is an extension of the field F. The group of all automorphisms fof E/F is usually denoted Aut(E/F)

Suppose that I find an isomorphism between Aut(E/F) and some other group G. Should it be called an Aut(E/F)ism?

>One of his contemporaries, remarking on the peculiarity of a world-class mathematician with a serious interest in unicycles, put Shannon’s love of these strange machines specifically, as well as his passions generally, in perspective: “He was not interested in forming a company to build unicycles. He was interested in finding out what made unicycles fun and finding out more about them.”

>Toward the end of his life, Shannon still maintained his cheekiness, his insouciance toward even the highest of the highbrow. After promising Scientific American an article on the physics of juggling, his attention drifted—and he chanced on an entirely unrelated project. From that came this note to his editor, written in 1981:

>Dear Dennis:
>You probably think I have been fritterin’, I say fritterin’, away my time while my juggling paper is languishing on the shelf. This is only half true. I have come to two conclusions recently:
>1) I am a better poet than scientist. 2) Scientific American should have a poetry column.
>You may disagree with both of these, but I enclose “A Rubric on Rubik Cubics” for you.
>Sincerely,Claude E. Shannon
>P.S. I am still working on the juggling paper.

>What followed was a 70-line poem on the subject of Rubik’s cubes, “sung to ‘Ta-Ra-Ra! Boom-De-Ay!’” and complete with footnotes. And it was clear from the rhyme and rhythm that the author had spent time playing with the words on his tongue, rearranging them in his head, singing them aloud to himself. The project was seriously unserious.

>And the juggling article? Like so many artifacts of Shannon’s mind, it acquired dust. Shannon’s attention had shifted, and whatever he needed to say about juggling had been said, at least to his satisfaction. He did, however, have one regret about the episode. He was disappointed that his poem never made it into the pages of Scientific American.

>Laughing, he declared, “That’s one of my great works!”

Was it autism?

Dealing with imposter syndrome

Kinda bloggy, but I think other people have this problem too. I didn't even know imposter syndrome existed until someone mentioned it on this board, made me feel a lot better that it's an actual thing that other people experience too. Have any of you guys experienced it and/or know how to fix it? Every time I prove my competency I get it in my head that I faked it somehow.

I experience it constantly. I have a background in molecular biology and pathology, know a decent amount about AC circuit design, can program in C++ and to an extent in x86 assembly, know a decent amount about physics, and can generally figure out how to unfuck fucked up small engines. Yet I feel as though I will be outclassed even applying to operate a forklift at a store. That there is a massive pool of more qualified and simply more ideal candidates. I do not fit anywhere. But where are they? They clearly don't exist.

I know some of the reasons, for me. Can't (bring myself to) do much about it. It would only be worse if I was trying to get somewhere in one of the above fields.

>le imposter meme
It's literally a reddit meme. You think Feynman or Einstein had imposter syndrome?

>haha if everyone has it, it must be a figment of our imaginations, r-right guys?
>y-yeah...

Academia is seriously a scam. What you have is actually the knowledge that you don't know anything. Most other PhD students and professors can identify with you because they also don't know anything. When you "proved your competency" you knew you were mostly bullshitting, but the people around you are also incompetent (or are just nice to people they see struggling) so they either can't (or don't) call you out on it.

>>9080812

When you divide both sides by zero, you have to flip the sign in the middle by 90 degrees. So
1 = 0
becomes
1 || 0

9*0 > 1*0
9 V 1

See? It's easy.

When it's asking for the equilibrium output, am I finding an average for the aggregate expenditure or a sum of the total aggregate expenditure?

I have the aggregate expenditure values down and change of inventory.

Also, when it asks to calculate MPC, the change of consumption over change of income, is the change of income the inventory?

I'm so bad at math but I'm trying to learn.

There is a circular field of radius r1. There is a cow on the field. How long (r2) does the rope connecting the cow and the edge of the field need to be so that the cow can eat the grass only on half of the surface (S1(green)) of the field. Rope is anchored at O2 and the center of the field is at O1. S1=S2

I can't be arsed to find the exact answer but the length of the tether creates another circle with a limit in size of twice of the first circle. But the travresable area is limited to the area of the first circle. Find the rate at which the two circles over lap with respect to the increase in length of the cord and give an answer that's pretty a proximate because fuck circular measurments. The cird will be a little longer than the radius of the first circle since the center of the 2nd will always lie on the perimeter of the other circle.

I left a metal cup full of water all afternoon yesterday in a room with the light on and came this morning to find that bubbles had formed on the inside of the cup, but just on the side where light had been directly hitting the inside of the cup.
Is this a result of the photoelectric effect and electrolysis?
