>go have this "contrast exam" because I maybe might have had cerebral aneurysm
>need to take this allergy stuff they told me to but I forgot(for rhinitis)
>need to fast for like 4 hours with no water no anything
>actually drink some water (less than 1 cup), chew some gun for a few seconds before being interrupted by my mom that reminds me of it and like 2/7 of a cup right before it, tells doc about this last cup and he's fine with it
>they put this shit in my arm, bleeds a lot since the point was really big( I think you can see where the blood was on this pic)
>they inject some serum and then tell me that now the point inside my vein is made out of silicon so I can go to the bathroom
>take pic
>take a piss
>they take me to the room where the exam is going to happen
>lay on this thing, they move my head and stuff so I'm at perfect position
>then they wrap my head in many angles and then my chest
>and then my hips
>tell me to close my eyes
>keep moving my body, connect a cable to the shit on my arm(pic related)
>this machine is big and round and the thing I'm laying on moves inside of it, weird noises, goes back and forth, makes some wind from time to time(?) and then it looks like it's going the same direction forever
>hear voice from some kind of microphone "stay really still now, this is the most important part"
>feel a cold thing on my arm(liquid pouring into my vein)
>feels my lungs are filled with this hot and disgusting gas
>start breathing really fast and my mouth starts to taste really bad, feel like I'm going to vomit
>literally think I'm pissing myself completely
>my feet burns
>heart goes fast just like my breathing
>it stops, still think I pissed myself
>after a few seconds a lady comes in and unwraps me, turns out I didn't piss myself
>arm is weird but lungs/mouth/feet/dick
What is this liquid? Did I get jewed? How many cancers I got?

I am about to go to a top 5 graduate school for Mathematics this year, but I am concerned about finding an apolitical woman in STEM, or at least academia as a whole. I am hoping to have two to three children, so I need her to be done with her major studies at 23-25 to achieve the best fertility. I will be finishing my PhD at 22, and I am fine being up to five years older than any potential mates. I can't wait for my Professorship since the youngest woman with a PhD is 22 and most women would be half-rotten by the time the first kid would be produced in that timeframe (about 26). I could live with marrying an Asian instead of a white, but nothing more than that.
>graduate school
>women
Lol, that's even rare in some soft science departments.
>>9110437
So where should I look then? I don't want a dumb wife because my kids would follow suit. I care more about a family than a woman.
>>9110439
>So where should I look then?
2D
Alight /sci/ they are here.
Any advice?
Is there any way I can verify that they actually sent me adrafinil and not something else?
Other than taking one, that is...
I'm, tempted to take one now, but its night time here...
what's adrafinil, why do you have it and why does it matter to the chans?
>>9110379
>what's adrafinil
A substance that metabolizes to modafinil.
Modafinil is a nootropic.
>why do you have it and
because I bought it, silly
>why does it matter to the chans?
Helps you focus, improves memory and learning
which degree is better for job prospect: computer science or computer engineering
Hard to answer this in a way that's useful since the question is retarded and the courses that compose those disciplines vary on the institution
Both are useful.
CE is generally harder but you have the option of either software or hardware while CS only has software.
If you wanna become a software engineer do CS, if you wanna do research in CS you might actually be better of doing math with a CS minor.
If you wanna design hardware, embedded programming, firmware programming do CE or even EE.
Is Identity polotics harming the STEM field?
This is not a /pol/ thread, i genuinely believe that anyone (no matter colour or sex (sex because gender is not a scientific term or anything real desu)) can be as smart as me given time and effort.
I'm worried that Identity Politics will harm the meritocracy that acts as the foundation of Natural selection within the work-place (especially STEM); that the push for hiring people based on race or sex, and the political push to censor any scientific revelations that go against what IdPol tells us, will ultimately ruin the only haven left for free thinkers.
>What do you guys think?
>inb4 - righty, /pol/, insert non-seuitur here
non-arguments don't prove anything. i have a centrist bias anyways, i'm more for truth than a political "side"
>inb4 - not relevant to /sci/
very relevant to sci considering it's impact on STEM (both currently, and expected)
>>9109055
>political push to censor any scientific revelations that go against what IdPol tells us
That's obviously a problem.
>i genuinely believe that anyone (no matter colour or sex (sex because gender is not a scientific term or anything real desu)) can be as smart as me given time and effort
That's a very unscientific, IdPol-friendly belief.
When you have to pay lip service to the unscientific political ideas that are destroying science even while discussing how those ideas are destroying science you basically know science is over.
Women in stem is a meme anyway. They all end up working in middle manager or adminstrative non stem work anyway.
Hr manager at Google or microshit == women in stem
Women generally don't want to code or do research or cad work deal with it. They simply want to secure high paying sinecure jobs at silicon valley corps that happen to be stem. That's all the screeching is about.

They're cute hey
>>9108879
Yes.
Actually.
Yes we did.
We kept the bastards in suspended animation.
We burned them. They survived beyond 100 degrees in short bursts when dry.
We cut them in half when wet. They lived for months.
They are hardier than wolverines.
Mini mldrich horrors with a single cyclopedic eye and STILL not as complicated as this microscopic azathoth. Lovecraft was worried about space monsters.

If you froze every single thing in existence, time wouldn't be able to resume.
Therefore the existence of time means that time has always existed. Since time is nothing more than a tool to measure the change of material objects, matter has also always existed.
165 IQ
But we know both time and matter were created in the big bang so you're wrong.
>>9108774
Thats wrong. The big bang only explains the spreading of them.
>If you froze every single thing in existence, time wouldn't be able to resume.
If P then Q
>Therefore the existence of time means that time has always existed
Therefore R.
Good logic there kiddo.
>How can xenophobia be reduced and altruism strengthened? Researchers at University Hospital Bonn have shown in a new study that the bonding hormone oxytocin together with social norms significantly increases the willingness to donate money to refugees in need, even in people who tend to have a skeptical attitude towards migrants. The results are published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
>Under the influence of oxytocin, the individuals who tended to show a positive attitude towards refugees doubled their donations to both the locals and the refugees. However, oxytocin had no effect in individuals who expressed a rather defensive attitude towards migrants: In those participants, the tendency to donate was very low to locals and refugees alike. “Oxytocin clearly increases generosity towards those in need, however, if this altruistic fundamental attitude is missing, the hormone alone cannot create it,” says Hurlemann.
>Oxytocin in combination with social norms decreases xenophobia
First things first, how feasible would it be to distribute this through main water supplies and secondly how the FUCK is this ethical in any scientific setting?

Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on?
>>9108637
no, have you got any other advice? Im scared im eventually gonna do something retarded and end up a prison twink for the next 40 years.

Why do you want to stop being like that? A true APD affected individual would lack the empathy needed to want to become empathetic (tautology intended), unless they somehow saw it as detrimental to their self interest.
Also wre you abused psychologically/physically? Were you neglected or humiliated as a child? Any close family members that also showed signs of APD?

Rulers and scales
>>9108409
Avoirdupois measurements are shit and can only be derived precisely from metric (Si) units, unless you want to steal a bar of silver from France.
A gram is defined as the weight of one cubic centimeter of water, of course then you have to define the length of a centimeter, so you use the speed of light for a fraction of a second, but then how do you define a second?
The answer is to shut the fuck up and just finish your homework.
