If the earth truly is spinning and orbitting the sun then we're travelling in a non-inertial reference frame
in which case, where are the fictitious forces?
why can't we measure them?
>>9106852
>where are the fictitious forces?
Which fictitious forces?
>>9106863
the ones that arise when you set your reference frame on top of an accelerating object.
e.g. when you're in a car and you seem to experience a force pulling you back in the direction opposite to travel
or if you're on the inside of a spinning, cylindrical drum and you get stuck to the walls
>>9106870
>when you're in a car and you seem to experience a force pulling you back in the direction opposite to travel
>or if you're on the inside of a spinning, cylindrical drum and you get stuck to the walls
These aren't fictitious you high schooler.

There's already a /SQT/ but the OP is asking why his cum smells of Flintstones vitamins so I'm starting a serious one.
Engineering friend is stuck on this one, says they have the answer but no idea how to work it out, was sent to me but am no engineer and couldn't really help. Anyone know how to work it out?

a) 2kN/m*5m=10kN
Ma=0=+10kN*2.5m - Fx*7m Fx= 25/7 kN
b/c) draw urself
d) I=200*200^3 / 12
Displacement = 1/3 * Fx * 7m^3 / 205 / I
>>9106692
Apparently not, the force in the rod is 1.89kN
how "do" I ""do""?
So there's this site nutrionfacts.org. It suggests that essentially the only healthy thing to eat is fruits and vegetables.
Except 30% of "facts" are of the form "X might cause Y" (read: literally fucking nothing), "X correlates to Y" (suggesting causation of which there is no evidence whatsoever) and "the way X is obtained is bad" (talking about heavy metal poisoning and toxins, ignoring all the pesticides on plants).
Also for all the talk about meat and dairy aging you... How about no meat and no dairy? There's been no studies on the negative effects on that.
So how DO you navigate your way throughout this whole bullshit ocean? They love to talk about non-vegetarianism being sponsored by big meat, big dairy and shit, but don't like to mention how much of information is sponsored by big greens, which is a power to be reckoned with - now more than ever.
look at the raw facts rather than ambiguous terms like "toxin"
Good thread, does anyone know good and actual informative books on that subject? Preferably written by a college professor specialized on food.

why scientists dont take in mind that motion is the fundamental basic of physics?
We are living on the planet that is in constant motion. Without it all life would be dead in a a second.
Humans do not exist without movement.
What's your point here? What should they "take in mind" exactly?

My doctor said they won't remove my appendix unless I have it rupture.
How can I induce it to rupture?
Preferably in a way I can do it outside the hospital
First off, you don't want your appendix to rupture. Appendicitis is pretty tolerable, but I lost use of my body waist down as a teenager due to an appendix rupture. I was, "Hot Wheels," and, "[Anon] Hawking." Just don't do that.
Although to actually answer your question, what set mine off was a combination of food poisoning via undercooked eggs, a bad flu, and eating a shit ton of mushrooms. Mushrooms got caught up in my appendix because my digestive tract was going wonky due to my double death combo of illness, and that caused a rupture. I shit you not (all incoming pun intended), the surgeon said he was removing mushrooms from my intestines on the operating table and I shat out solid undigested mushrooms for like two days. It fucking sucked man.
Though I was an extreme case, because my appendix wasn't the only thing that got damaged and I delayed going to the hospital for so long that it had lasting damage. But, that's what I've got for you.
>>9106237
1) Why don't you want an appendix?
2)Mine ruptured and hurt like hell. You might as well just get a knife and stab yourself in the appendix.
>>9106245
I had "tummy" problems for a good week. When I started throwing up I told my mother and she took me into the ER. After some scans, "shit boi your appendix burst"
2 hours later I was home, high as hell, with 3 new soon to be scars on my abdomen, but fine.
Sorry for you dude. Mine had been burst for days and I ended up fine.
Pictures are pretty wicked though. All my intestines were green and shit
I'm about to get a nut allergy test.
I need to fake a no allergy. ( I can't explain why)
Is there a way to fake it? Could I line my stomach with olive oil or something?

Just like a solar eclipse, is it possible for a "lunar ecilpse" to occur?
As in, during the night, the Sun positions itself in front of the Sun (or the Moon follows a path that takes it behind the Sun) and the sky turns as bright as day for a few seconds?
If it's possible, has it ever occured before?
The Sun positions itself in front of the Moon*
Sorry, my bad
>>9106061
>the Sun positions itself in front of the Sun
think about the distance between the Earth and the Sun Vs. the Earth and the moon.
Hi,
is there a term defined for the difference in relation between two expressions of the same proportionality? I've noticed this effect but haven't been able to find a word for it.
For example:
P = IV
where P is power, I is current, and V is voltage
and
V = IR
where R is resistance.
As the resistance increases, the current decreases proportionally, keeping the voltage constant. Assuming a constant voltage supply is present, you may alter the resistance and the current changes inversely, yet they are both multiplied in the formula.
On the contrary,
as the voltage increases in P = IV, the current does not decrease. It is well known that as the voltage increases, so does the current.
Thanks for your insight!

I have been trying to Isolate tryptamine using heptane But my results are wildly inconsistent. Are there any organic chemist here that have any advice or could share some experiences?
I've worked with tryptamine, it seemed to dissolve very well in DMF and acetonitrile, could prob do some column stuff involving that. Also DCM and methanol

Why have you been trying to isolate tryptamine?
>>9105958
try a polar solvent. the primary and secondary amine groups on the tryptamine I would agree with other anon on acetonitrile and DMF
I'm assuming a number of you use R for your statistical analysis and can help me with this. What are some (preferably free) resources I can use to learn R? I found a couple of online tutorials, but they only cover the very basics.
