Can women have psychopathy (or anti-social personality disorder) just like men?
>>9108380
Women are born with it.
>>9108383
Then why are they so emotional? Psychopaths lack empathy and do not care about their own emotions.
>>9108380
Why not? The only real schizo person I ever met was a woman.
>Right-handers have marginally higher IQ scores than left-handers: Systematic review and meta-analyses.
>The relationship between intelligence and handedness remains a matter of debate. The present study is a systematic review of 36 studies (totaling 65,519 individuals), which have measured full IQ scores in different handedness groups. Eighteen of those studies were further included in three sets of meta-analyses (totaling 19,744 individuals), which investigated differences in standardized mean IQ scores in (i) left-handers, (ii) non-right-handers, and (iii) mixed-handers compared to right-handers. The bulk of the studies included in the systematic review reported no differences in IQ scores between left- and right-handers. In the meta-analyses, statistically significant differences in mean IQ scores were detected between right-handers and left-handers as well as right-handers and non-right-handers, but were marginal in magnitude (d=-.07 and d=-.06, respectively); the data sets were found to be homogeneous. Significance was lost when the largest study was excluded. No differences in mean IQ scores were found between right-handers and mixed-handers. No sex differences were found. Overall, the intelligence differences between handedness groups in the general population are negligible.
A lot of memes debunked in https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28826694.
How come two groups with such differently organized brains end up with the same intelligence?
>>9127952
>How come two groups with such differently organized brains end up with the same intelligence?
The answer is obvious. All humans have the same intelligence. Your quote says so. No sex differences in inteligence, no race differences in intelligence. We all have the same intelligence.
>>9127958
How I knew someone would get butthurt about "No sex differences were found." when it's a known fact it's very hard to find IQ differences between sexes when you actually use IQ tests to measure intelligence.
Focus on handednes or fuck off.
>>9127962
I am not butthurt. I am saying that no sex differences exist. You are the retard for pretending like there are differences between humans. We are all the same.
Are any physicists looking for evidence of compression artifacts and or rounding errors in the physical nature of the universe? Is this a thing?
>>9127749
yeah everytime you measure a wavefunction it rounds to the nearest eigenstate whoops
>>9127753
When you see a dream, you make it a meme.
>compression artifacts
the fact that all physical constants are some shit number that has nothing to do with mathematical constants
the fact that mathematical constants are also some shit real nothing to do with natural numbers
the fact that the speed of light is some shit number
the fact that the number of dimensions is some shit number
the list goes on and gone this is definitely the jpeg universe
>just work hard brah
what, you think raw talent is enough for people to grasp shit in science or math? don't kid yourself. no amount of talent is going to magically make someone redefine the laws of nature. it's years of understanding and comprehension and interpretation of all the existing laws, with the most softest of transgressions being applied to them through advancements in theories that are consistent enough to present a more detailed framework. even Witten said that time and space are likely an approximation to some other parameter we can't see unless we can properly model the earliest moments of the big bang. that's from someone who studied endlessly the inner workings of the classical model, and string model together. that's not just talent talking. none of this is. if talent was enough then all the progenitors of quantum mechanics would have discovered everything but they haven't.
science is amazing because all it takes is consistency in your understanding of what something means, by applying and practicing yourself, and you can advance further, and if you catch a snag, you refine your understanding. all of knowledge is a refinement process. savants might get to point B faster, but then C and D and so on will require hard work.
>>9127712
Obviously a good work ethic is necessary, but IQ can basically make or break your dreams (depending on what those are)
>>9127712
Hard work is a buzzword and a meme thrown around by successful people who are too selfish to accept free will is a joke and their success is mostly owned to a combination of genetics & favorable environmental conditions. If I was born into a family who could afford paying the most expensive college and had an IQ of 250 I'd show the world all my "hard work".

Is it true your sense of urgency fades when you get into your 30s?
I will become 30 this year and I'm already starting to feel this.
Back when I was 20 I could study like mad before a test or finish papers in only a few hours working under pressure fully pumped of adrenaline, but now that I'm getting old I feel so weak when
deadlines start to close in.
I feel I should've worked harder on being a disciplined person that studies and does his work little by little every day instead of cramming it in all at once, but now that I'm 30 I don't think I can change this about my personality.
How can I deal with this, /sci/?
Any other 30s going through the same shit?
>>9127534
You're only as young as you feel, anon. Sounds corny but its true. I once went to a rave a a year or so back and there was a couple there in the smoking section, looked about 65 years old wearing old school hippie clothes.
Sure you'll feel the effects of age, but its natural. You just have to re-adjust, and know that you're wiser than you were before.
>>9128027
Pay no attention to this twat... 'as long as you have enough money'.. fuck that.
Do what you really want to do and happiness will follow.
I am curious about the number one.
Does anyone have a decent definition of 1? Other than 'multiplicative identity' or whatever poincare said. Or other maths stuff.
I'm of the opinion that 1 is a construct (the 'first' construct). It must be the number that 'every' other sequence/number agrees exists (e.g. Prime numbers) as the start of its series.
To sort of give an idea of what I am talking about:
1 = 1 = This usually means "I am already here/there/X" = This is the same as binary 1
2 = Even = This means "I am aware I am not one and acknowledge that it exists; my path to it is <insert expression>" = This is the same as binary 0 = This is technically also the same as infinity (or the number 0)
3 = Prime = This means that you realize that you are not as important as 1, so you defer your preference for this field until you are 'utilized/referenced/addressed'; another way of saying "Wait your turn!" = This is the same as boolean "True"
? = Unknown = This means the value is undefined/abstained/withheld = This is the same as boolean "False"
Sort of like how the universe is just a fraction expression: infinity over yes/no

If the so called Newton's theory of gravity holds true then why hasn't the entire mass of the universe gravitated to a single point?
It will, sometime in the future.

How can we manipulate the speed of light? It's fucking SLOW
We need to make it faster.
