Whats your favourite pillar robots?
Ionic pillar master-race here.
Ionic aesthetics.
>>26486860
Corinthian. I like my columns straight.
>>26486860
Honestly i'm more a fan or rusticated
Toscan, I'm usually not a fan of minimalism but I make an exception for smooth marble pillars.
pillars...
>>26486860
why did they teach me this shit in school?
>>26486860
Corinthian ftw
>>26486860
Ionic is objectively most aesthetic
Toscan is shit tier, reminds me of my school days
>>26486860
Corinthian
I'm a little flamboyant
>>26486860
I like simplicity and minimalism, so Toscan.

I despise minimalism in all forms, Corinthian.

This. Corinthian is gay. Ionic is just right. Toscan is applefag tier.

Why not just say you like overdesigned filth?
>>26487406
Complexity is beautiful tho
>fucking NOBODY ITT chose Doric
I can't believe I have to share this board with you swine.
>>26486860
Doric. It's not too simple or intricate.
Corinthian > Toscan > Doric > Ionic
>>26487428
Doric is shit, they usually don't even have feet.
Smooth pillars are only good to shove up your ass.
>>26487468
Your mom has an ass
>>26487428
>>26487438
Doric looks like the weird 2nd stage evolution of starter Pokemon
>>26486860
Doric masterrace here
Toscan is cool too, but not when using white, only when using things with varied colors, like granite
>>26486860
Doric.
By the way, what do you call the grooves cut into the pillars? Scalloping?
If you want to get into collumns:

Toscan. I'm a minimalist. No point in overdesigning, function rules over everything else.
>>26487488
>>26487464
You plebs don't know shit. Doric was the most exquisit and refined kind of greek pillar with the most strict rules that appealed not only to the pillar but to the rest of the temple too.
It's the most representative of greece's classic splendor.
The rest of them are just consecutive decadency of the model and don't even have quality standards.

I appreciate its modesty for not being overly-aesthetic yet still retaining attractiveness. People tend to be too obsessed with opulence.
Corinthian.
Just Baroque my shit up, oikogeneia
>>26486860
They got the proportions wrong. Corinthian and Ionic should be much thinner compared to their heights than doric and Toscan.
This is partly because they were supposed to represent femenine atributes of goddeses rather than gods, for whom they'd use Doric, which had a way more sturdy look.
Toscan and Doric are fine. The other two seem to try too hard.
Atleast noone mentioned composite order.
> classical Greek architecture
> good
I want romanticists to leave.
>>26488058
Good thing I'm a classicist
>>26487909
Hmm, that changed my entire perception of columns.
Thanks.
>All these minimalists
Good God, how boring.
i like pilars
Does /r9k/ prefer Euler's or Johnson's column stability theory?
>>26488275
What's the difference? Which do you prefer?
>>26488275

If you were not being sarcastic let me illuminate you with more trivia about that.
There are some exceptions, such as the Parthenon, which was built to adore the goddess Athenea. They used doric in this case but all in all, Athenea was a fairly masculine goddess, being her a war goddess although in the tactic sense of it.
>>26488349
We're talking collumns here, senpai. Gothic's collumns had greek basic shapes even if very adultered.

The five pillars of Islam desu
>all these plebs not choosing Doric
It's the perfect balance between being decorated, so it's not a boring snoozefest like Toscan while not being overdesigned like Corinthian. ALso doesn't have those dumb Ionic spirals that can easily fall over time, so it lasts longer
>>26488384
I wasn't being sarcastic, but I understand why it came off that way.
Toscan is best. Fight me.
Tuscan is smooth. I like that.

>>26488901
Okay i'll bite.
Toscan is just the Ethruscs playing Greek orders by ears but not understanding them. They are not even a style, just a way to referring to all of the unclassificable orders that you could find in the italic peninsula before the roman empire was a thing.
>>26486860
Ionic.
>>26486860
Corinthian, but I am more into gothic type of detail in old architecture with proper stone masonry. Gotta love the craft.
>>26488903
Yeah I figure a fag like you would enjoy smooth pillars to shove up your ass
>>26487783
>>implying inspiration through beauty isn't a function
*angel singing intensifies*
Doric. Simple but not too simple.
>>26486860
Isn't Tuscany in Italy?
Toscan looks the least anachronistic when applied to modern architecture.
>>26489230
Because its the most plain.
>>26489230
Modern architecture has degenerated, yes.
>>26486860
