How long have you been here? How did you first find this place? Is there anyone still here all the way back from 2003?
What will you do when this site eventually dies?
>>
since 2009
I think I heard about it from a friend
When the site dies so will I
>>
shamefully i went during 2011 so yeah i'm meme cancer
>>
I've been here for 10 years. A big tit Japanophile introduced. I say Japanophile because she wasn't a weeaboo. She couldn't name an anime if she tried. But, she went to Japan in college and loved it there. She speaks Japanese fluently and even had a Jap bf.

She confessed her love for me once, which was fucking bizarre because she was attractive as shit and had really big tits. Haven't spoken to her in like 8 years.
>>
I was here when it went to 4chan.org. Pretty sure I was on here 2003. I'm 25 now.

>when 4chan dies
I'll move to another chan, like most people I suppose. By the time it dies though, it will have been switched to a log-in system, infinite tracking and recording, and legal anti-channer platform. You think the spamming and shitposting is bad now at 95%? It hasn't even begun.
>>
Probably around 2006 or so, although I still mostly posted on SA back then

Since 06', Although I'm ashamed to say that I was one of those underage b8's who came after hearing about the habbo hotel raids; part of the original wave of cancer. Came for the action, stayed for the community, been stuck here ever since.

>What will you do when this site eventually dies?
Pretty much this >>26482355
although I'm less pessimistic about the future.
>>
I don't remember exactly, but I did visit 4chan when it still had /l/. And then not4chan was created.
>>
>>26482234
I have been on the site since 2010. I started out on reddit and was talking about it when a senior friend came up to me and basically called me a faggot and told me id like 4chan a lot better. If this site ever dies i guess ill just move on to the next one
>>
2006.
Watching anime lead me to /a/.
The site has already died, this newest incarnation will die as well, and if a new 4chan isn't born, I welcome it.
>>
Around ten years, found it through friends speaking about.

I was thinking about this the other day, I spend so much time on 4chan I wouldn't know what to do if it disappeared, it's my only semblance of social interaction that doesn't fill me with anxiety or loathing.

Overall it would probably be for the best though.
>>
05. Good year... Everyone says this place has gone to shit. It's always been shit, that's why we fucking love it
>>
>>26482234
>How long have you been here?
In&out since...2009 I think. I tend to lurk more when I feel lonely.
>How did you first find this place?
Some weird friend showed me /b/
>What will you do when this site eventually dies?
I'm probably long gone before that.
>>
>>26482234
>implying this site isn't dead already.
Like the other anon said above. I came when the habbo raids were annoying everybody. But I lurked for a while so I did my best to not being an annoying kid.
What is keeping me here? I don't know, nostalgia I guess, I'm still waiting for an epic happening or something.
I wanna feel that old hype again when monitoring a good thread.
>>
>How long have you been here?
2008 or so.
>How did you first find this place?
I don't even remember.
>What will you do when this site eventually dies?
Probably move to 8ch.
>>
2007
Its been fairly steady to be honest
/b/ died in about 2009, it became the 'cool' place for anyone who heard about 4chan on other sites and so became the containment, which is why is so bad and irrelevant now
But I think the culture became more interesting as a result, it became more about different boards and their distinct cultures and attitudes
Things became a lot more cynical, they always were but the cynicism even turned in on ourselves and jokes/styles of humor we previously enjoyed became cringeworthy and were shunned (at one point people referred to eachother as 'gentlemen' and all other kinds of reddity shit)
If you avoid /b/ and other normie places its good

I don't know, Spend most my time using 4chan, Twitter (for news) and Youtube/Video streaming

4chan is pretty much the only place online or real life where I have contact outside my family

I would be sad if it died, because I have no idea where to go
>>
Since 2009.

I remember that I was twelve or thirteen years old, innocently looking for papercraft material on google when i stumbled upon /po/ and subsequently /b/.
>>
>>26483616
I was 14 in 2009, didn't start lurking until I was 17

Weird seeing people younger than me been on here longer
>>
>>26482234
Since last year, I am a newfag. But I'm also an oldfag and sometimes it takes me a decade to hear about the new coolest memes
>>
>>26483672
I've been on 4chan since right before my 10th birthday, I'm 19 now. There are more than a couple such doomed souls on this time.
>>
2007, I was aware of it since a little before /b/day but a friend got me into it was only in 9th grade but wasn't accused of being b& until last month

I've actually seriously considered making a "successor site" to 4chan myself when it dies, I know some other people that would be willing to help. I know 4*2 chan exists, but it's pretty shit honestly, the fact that people can create their own boards easily sounds cool but balkanizes communities, there are plenty of things I've gotten into that I wouldn't have even known about if they weren't on boards I frequent. But whatever happens, I do believe this kind of site is needed, even more so with how restrictive the internet will get in the coming years. And I don't want the culture/history to just die out.
>>
>>26483771
The original culture and history is already dead along with the rest of the old Internet.
>>
>>26482234
>How long have you been here?
I lurked a bit in late 2007 and early 2008, then went away until mid-2011 when I also started posting.

>How did you first find this place?
Someone posted an ASCII facepalm (based on that Picard pic) on some forum I used to lurk. Someone else asked what that was, and the poster replied with a link to the facepalm article on Encyclopedia Dramatica. I clicked that link and read some pages. This place was mentioned a few times on some of those pages and I eventually decided to visit it.

>What will you do when this site eventually dies?
I hope there is a new chan I can go to by the time that happens.
>>
I've been here off and on since :emotes: were a thing. They're not a thing anymore, obviously.

>How long have you been here?
~2005-2006 is when I started coming here.
>How did you first find this place?
I think it was through newgrounds but I can't remember exactly why.

>What will you do when this site eventually dies?
Every now and again my internet will die for a month and I'll often go through my folder of pictures collected from years passed. It's a pretty good way of emulating the 4chan experience but I don't know if I can do it for years rather than months.
Chances are pretty good some new imageboard or collection of image boards will take its place. I do use a few of the slower boards on eight-chan that cover interests 4chan doesn't, but I don't think that'll be a good place to migrate to for my main hobbies.
Going to a new imageboard may not be the same but 4chan is never the same either.

2008, a friend showed me "the rules of the internet one day," then some shit about boxxy so I looked up 4chan and ended up here.

When this site dies so will I.

Not all of us are (you)whores, man.
>>
>How long have you been here?
Since late 2004. I was 18 and living in my great aunt's basement because my step-father overdosed when I was 17 after taking out two mortgages on the house my grandfather left my mother. Lost the house, mother went to jail on drug charges.

>How did you first find this place?
I was linked to it by some pervert on Yahoo Messenger. Ended up gravitating towards /o/ and eventually became a tripfag in the early community.

What will you do when this site eventually dies?
4chan has died multiple times already. I'll just keep coming back to observe how the community continues to evolve and denigrate itself with hostile outside influences.

>Since 2006.
I used to change forums a lot back then. Got banned very often for being underage etc. So I found it through a friend who went to NG.
>r9k
I checked it out before but then it was just /b/ and I had long since grown to disdain /b/. Then when the reboot came the news of how it had developed before had reached me of course. And I kinda liked it. Now you're just dicks to women like it's a meme. At least argue sanely. Just making claims is boring.
>>
I've been here since November 2008.
It's actually pretty funny how i got here, in 2008 there was this game released, called Spore, some of you probably heard of it, very creative. It has this huge creature library online which you can easly download. Anyway, while lurking trough these creature creations a few users made /b/ creatures. Their descriptions were something in lines of: visit /b/ and spread the love, can't really recall it's been a long time.

>When the site dies
When it does i will just lose a part of myself.

I came just in time for pic related after reading this article

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-10520487

At first I didn't get it but I persevered and basically spent the first couple of years solely on /b/

Now I'm probably addicted to it really because after I check correspondence (emails, watsapp and the news) I basically use my phone for 4chan

If 4chan dies then I don't know what I'm going to do

I'm not quite sure i think it was youtube poop. i used to spend my time on youtube back then when youtube showed some interesting related videos. i think when i saw pedo bear on a youtube poop vid i started researching him then i found out it originated on 4chan i started to check it out during 2010 but i briefly left then decided to lurk back during 2011
>Is there anyone still here all the way back from 2003?
not me because i didn't have internet back then
>What will you do when this site eventually dies?

I just realized I've wasted a decade on 4chan
>>
>>26482234
Since august 2011.

Discovered this place after my family moved in 2011 and I had no friends to go outside with. If you spend too much time online you eventually find all kinds of places. To this day im amazed by the fact that I had 0 knowledge of what's online prior to 2011. I couldve turned out normal, but no, we had to move. I still dont have any friends and spend all of my time inside, my family is eve worried that ill end up alone since ive never had a gf or a job for that matter.
>>
>>26482234
I got linked here from a forum in 2008.

Had read about the site before though.

I was very young and it poisoned my brain.

In 2007 I was on roblox and someone mentioned this place as 'where all the best flamers hang out.' I was curious so I came here and the first thing I saw was a big picture that said 'fuck niggers' on it and I got scared someone would see me browsing and I left. I didn't forget though and started browsing regularly a few years later.
>What will you do when this site eventually dies?
Anne Hiro or find another imageboard.
>>
>>26484666

I remember people telling me not to go here because this place would give my computer a virus, eventually I said fuck it. At first I remember being weirded out trying to figure the layout, i'd say a few weeks after that I was in.

Wiz or Krautchan. If they're not around by then either, just move on. I primarily visit out of old, unbreakable habit nowadays. It'd be liberating.

here as in 4chan? i found the place in 2007, disregarded it for a while without a single post, rediscovered in 2008 and have been shitposting constantly since,
>How did you first find this place?
some now dead chatroom, a girl there was complaining because anons were posting her pics
>What will you do when this site eventually dies?
i'll be so sad that i'll build another myself to replace it. there's another chan i post on sometimes, but it gets like 50 visitors a day, and i'd be banned for posting the url. boxxy's chan (which btw is pretty much nothing to do with boxxy. most people there in fact hate her, and it's a pretty cool place imo)

oops, meant to add, hence my clarifying "as in 4chan?" that i've only been on r9k for like 5 days. i used to come here around 5 years ago, but it became too damn depressing. i'm back here because, given how much i miss my beloved ex, i'm taking a certain sadistic comfort in reading the misery you poor bastards are enduring.

Friend showed me a raff you ruse back in 2007. Eh, there might be a person or two left from 2003 but thats 13 long years, I doubt they'd be on anything but a niche interest board. probably migrate to another chan or reddit when this place dies.
>>
>>26482234
i realized my 10 year anniversary should be sometime soon

found it by pure chance I think. Someone posted screenshots of threads on /b/ and then I checked it out. The journey then looked like this:

> first 6 years: /b/ only
> next 3 years: way less /b/, mostly /fit/ and /tv/
> last 3 years: mostly /r9k/ and a bit of /tv/ here and there

next stop would be wizardchan (4 years to go) but I do have friends so I won't be welcome there either. Feels sad, man
>>
>>26485708
it's just a different 'feel', it's culturally different. the average iq has dropped a bit especially on here, and there are massively more infuriating children on /b/, and the quality has dropped somewhat, there used to be legit funny stuff posted all the time. oh and christ almighty, so, so many more traps now than there used to be.
>>
Around 2007. I spent 2 years on /b/ exclusively, then found /tg/

When this site finally does kick the bucket I don't know what I'm going to do. I've been here so long, and I didn't go to any other online communities before it, so I don't even know what to do on the internet without 4chan. When its down I just play video games or read.

I might just kill myself to be honest. There is very little to look forward to in my life.
