>make a MyAnimeList and RateYourMusic account
>end up rating everything 8-10 because I like everything
Why can't I be critical? How do I learn to be a critic?
>nothing on hold
I just made mine recently and this surprises me.
Tweak the rating to fit yourself. I rarely rate anything a 10 because it has to be considered perfect. 9 will go down in history or considered a master piece. 8 is something I really like. 7 is something I found enjoyable. 6 is something that stands out. 5 is okay. 4-2 is varying trash. I have yet to rate anything a 1 because similar to 10, it must be absolute garbage that sickens me
Btw what's your rym, I'll add you!
Please don't rate things as 10/10
There will never ever be a 10/10 in this world and if there is, it will be the like the End of Evangelion. The same goes for 0/10 as well. Nothing is ever perfect and nothing is ever completely shit.
Don't overrate stuff. MAL is horrible with over rated shoujo shit. I have been tricked by them many times
Nothing wrong with that. If anything, I'd rather meet more people who aren't harsh critics.
I try not to start anything I won't like/will drop.
That being said, I can force myself through some shit if it ends up being bad.
Here's my top 5 btw, think I need to replace oregairu and little busters though.
>always accused of hating video games by peers because I don't like their mainstream trash
>go through all the efforts of making a program to average and graph my review scores of games on backloggery.com
>average review score is a 3.2
take that faggots, I love video games.
Btw here's my rating for both, I'm just starting manga and going through the "essentials" so the rating is pretty high.
>I try not to start anything I won't like/will drop.
But how will you know what you actually like? I don't want to be trapped in a little bubble when there is so much undiscovered shit that I might like. And maybe in the future you can try to rewatch the ones you don't like and see if you can like it. I find that better than recycling the same thing over and over again.
Also I find it strange you have favorites when you didn't rewatched anything. I find it ideal to rewatch a series at least once so you can catch the small things you didn't notice before.
>But how will you know what you actually like?
I have a good idea of if I'll like the show or not before going into it. I enjoy most genres so the show would have to try really hard to make me not want to watch it.
>Also I find it strange you have favorites when you didn't rewatched anything. I find it ideal to rewatch a series at least once so you can catch the small things you didn't notice before.
I've actually seen ZnT twice, but I'd rather spend the time watching newer shows.
>rating/critiquing peoples music tastes rather than critiquing the music directly to the band
What the fuck so you dumb retards have social media now where you tell eachother what to listen to rather than listening to what you like?
Smh desu senpai
>make an excell spreadsheet of all the anime I watch because I'm too cool for MAL
>Have a column keeping track of the best girl of each anime I watch
>stop updating it because it's too much of a hassle
if you don't watch shows you don't like this makes perfect sense
why would you watch shows you dont like all the way through and then rate them 1/10
it's not like you are picking anime randomly which would be the situation to get a nice 5/10 average bell curve
Becuase you use these things to pass the time rather than hold them as a geniune interest. Or it's really hard to talk about it beyond the actual plotline.
A person who had to be trained to write and play or animate can look at these things from a more technical aspect.
