been watching pokermen lately for campy nostalgia since I only got to watch the ~12 episodes I had on VHS as a kid.
All the plotholes and 4kids censoring are bananas, but it does have a pretty clever joke and some suprising language every now and then.

I finished Michiko to Hatchin a couple weeks ago. I hadn't watched a full series in a very long time before that though. It's hard for me to get into an anime lately. I also watch Mushi-Shi but the second season is brutally slow and not as interesting as the first.

A suicidal teacher who finds despair in everything and his class made up of yanderes and stalkers and hikikomoris and all sorts of unusual girls. It's like a tongue-in-cheek harem series, full of dark humor and social commentary.

Some of the jokes don't translate very well and the references can be pretty obscure for non-Japanese people. So some people might be tempted to drop it early on because they feel like they don't understand it-- but if they stick with it I think they'll fall in love with the characters and the author's style of comedy.

The best part of the series is the ending, which unfortunately hasn't been animated. It's a bizarre twist that completely changes the meaning of the entire series, but there are clues from the very beginning, even in the OPs and EDs of the anime. Rereading or rewatching the series after you know the secret can be like watching it for the first time again.

TL;DR: Cute girls with issues, intelligent humor, mind-blowing ending in the manga

The manga was still ongoing when the anime ended, so the anime doesn't really have an "ending."

But because the series is made up of disconnected plots and the overarching story doesn't start to emerge until the very end, there would be no problem with watching the anime first and then only reading the last 10 or so chapters of the manga. You won't feel like you're missing out on much, if anything at all.

Tokyo Ghoul has one of the best soundtracks around, but the anime was fucking shit. Started off well and eventually became a mess, it's a shame because it's a really interesting take on the metamorphosis if that is indeed what it is. Kaneki's pain in contrast with Gregor's relative apathy, similar concepts but they tell a different story. Or would have if Tokyo Ghoul was good.

Currently watching boku dake ga inai machi, musaigen kyoani stuff, and koukaku no pandora.

It does have a very interesting premise, and the first 4 or so episodes--but particularly the first, which was great--are quite good, but it eventually becomes very, very bad. I prefer .hack. Log Horizon is extremely dialog heavy so don't go in expecting a lot of action. Most of it felt like slice of life which I didn't really care for either. The story isn't very interesting either as they mostly just sit around a table and talk about shit no one gives a fuck about.

theres lots more manga then there is anime. most anime will be an adaption of a manga usually, so if you like an anime then the manga version will usually be more in depth. aswell it's 'easier' to make a manga (i think anime is done by computer for some now but it used to be hand drawn)

i prefer manga of chromartie high school and welcome to NHK compared to the anime. especially with chromartie which is a lot better in the manga with the jokes. same with one punch man manga compared to the anime
