Back at uni this coming week. 4th year, but I've only completed literally one year of subjects.

Is it just me or are girls at uni getting uglier. 80% of the girls I see are Asian and of the white ones, maybe 20% are pretty. It's so sad. I used to get so much fucking eye candy walking around uni and now it's just boring and pointless.

whys our money worth jack shit
why can't get a job or house price so high muh bubble
why did liberal win
why NBN never ever
why do I feel I get cucked by the system daily
why can't it be winter already
>>
>>26429559
House prices are high because of zoning and planning laws that restrict greenfield development. Essentially, even though Australia has almost limitless land, it is illegal to build on most of it. There is only a tiny sliver zoned 'residential' and allowed to be developed. The price of this tiny amount of land is bid up to huge prices by all the developers vying for it, and this filters down to the price of homes people buy.

It's an easy fix (get rid of land rationing/zoning laws) but state governments aren't interested in trying it.
>>
>>26429610

>land holders pay 0 tax
>brought in by liberal in the howard area

if they were taxed 1/10th of its worth every year just to hold it, things would change fampai.
>>
Why haven't you guys glasses all the chinks yet?
>>
>>26429624
State governments make huge amounts of money from stamp duting. If home prices fell, they would go broke. That is why they have implemented anti-greenfield development planning laws.

It's both parties, sadly. Labor justifies it by saying that living in high-rises is more "sustainable". Liberal justifies it by saying people don't want the value of their homes to fall.

cause all the normies australians have stopped their shitposting for the day to go get on the piss and shag sheilas the watering hole
>>
>>26429610
theres heaps of land and places to build (where they could have proper water/sewage etc.), but thier out in rural Australia in small towns where noone wants to go.
>>
>>26429559
Our moneys worth plenty.
Housing markets fine.
Doesn't matter who wins nothing will change unless a small party like the shooters and fishers get in.
I have nbn, although it's not 25mb/s like was promised 6.3 average is better than my old 2.1
Idk.
Move to Vic.
>>
>>26430448
>implying that sort of norman ever posts here
>>
>>26430491
Even in rural areas it is mostly illegal to build, except on tiny slivers of land. In much of rural NSW for example a house can still set you back in excess of $400,000.
>>
>>26430589
do you live in city?
6.3mb no way that's nbn. must be the wireless NBN they give to rural parts.

fucking stupid they gave all the citys that already had access to 25-50mb internet the NBN first. the parts of australia with 100 thousand+ populations who still only had max 1mb upload and 5mb download get it last.
>>
>>26430756
well to build a new development you have to do a lot more work, so ofcourse they'll cost more then buying a house or buying from land where someones already developed it for building onto.
>>
>>26430771
It costs about $40,000 for basic roads, sewerage, power and communications to a new lot. But even in rural Australia, a new lot can cost in excess of $150,000 because of zoning laws.
>>
Any Tasmanians in tonight?
>>
>>26430758
I'm about an hour south of Katherine, NT, middle of no where and it isn't wireless.

They didn't give the cities 25-50mb, it would cost less to run fibre from the node in rural parts, my sister runs a gym in Melb and I get better speed than her.

Moving from big land to Melbourne in April, everyone is asking why would I move so far.

Wondering if it's a worthy decision considering I live in a shithole called Russia atm

Oh g'day mate. Hobart myself
>>
>>26431351
theres no way you have fiber if you have only 6mb internet.
and the city parts already have way better than 6mb download (line speed, which is improant, i don't mean you get 6000kb/s when you download) speeds

NBN which they said they were going to put out should give ATLEAST 20mb downspeed minimum. but proper fiber gives up to 100mb speed. the 'crappy' NBN that they said would be better 'cost wise' (aka 'we've down giving the citys good internet, heres shitty internet for the rest of aus') would be atleast 20mb minimum download line speed.

Melbourne is OK, if you're looking to rent near the city it's surprisingly affordable, plenty of nice cafes and restaurants. There are lots of hipsters and cuck type people, but not as much as it gets memed on /pol/.

I don't have fibre. I'm getting 6.3 through copper wire.

She paid for fibre to the node, yet can't get above 4 in Melbourne, yet she can download 4 things at 4 consistently.
Don't blame the government, Telstra is the one throttling us.
