What the absolute fuck? Why is this happening to me? Nobody in my family is bald.
>I don't have the same hairline or thickness I did as a teenager
No shit Sheelock. It's not too late to transition to a woman if manhood upsets you this much.
>I don't know what the big deal is
>Women don't mind my balding hair
Shave your hair, you like like a dyke. YOU COULD LOOK LIKE......
My hair is the only distraction from my ugly face.
I knew a kid sophomore year in high school who had balding halfway across his scalp. Don't feel so bad.
How far has it receded? All the guys in my family receded to about nw2 when they were 16-20 and then it never went further, it's been the same for me.
You should really only panic if it starts turning into a 2a. Take pictures every few months and keep track, if it keeps getting worse go see a doc. No way to tell how bad it is unless you post pics though.
>bakding is actually from your moms dad or something like that for maternal granpa.
>mfw my maternal grandpa went almost completely bald in his twenties
balding is due to high testosterone, eat a lot of mint and liquorice candies as they lower testosterone
also there is some stuff you can put on your scalp that interrupts the mechanism of action that orders hair follicles to shut down, forgotten what it is called
Just take a fucking look dude. This shit is bad.
>look just like my dad
>the only way to differentiate us from pictures when we we're both little is because his pictures are much older
>55 and has a hairline that is barely a norwood .5
>22 and already norwood 2-2.5
You guys are probably sick of seeing my face but I feel I can help.
Get a buzz. You have to do it sooner or later. You will look better, trust me. You will save money on haircuts. Some women actually like bald guys and guys with buzz cuts. Even ones with shitty hairlines. They especially like the way it feels.
You can wear hats and skullcaps, but people will sense your insecurity and that is a turn off.
I am not happy that I lost my hair, but it doesn't hurt me like it used to, because I don't let it. Cheer up, anon.
>tfw pretty much completely bald at 25
It's a sexual death sentence to go bald in your 20s. I had just started gaining confidence with chicks around 19-21, and then boom balding hit me hard. Chicks still kinda liked me but then would always end up changing their minds after realizing how bald I'm getting.
>tfw used to have beautiful, thick, curly, soft hair that girls loved running their fingers though
>tfw used to get compliments all the time about my long hair and how jealous girls were that my hair was naturally so soft and awesome
>tfw went bald and lost part of my identity
Hair transplant is coming soon enough.
>took female hormones
>full head of nice long hair
If you are that worried do it too, or just literally man up
Yes, but only A cups and they are easy to hide. It was worth it just for my hair desu
Oh and you can try minoxidil+ finasteride and some shampoo, the name of which i forgot, but it will cost and you have to take/apply this stuff daily or else you will lose all your progress. But I heard it works really well
that stuff works, but it'll cost hundreds of dollars every year, and it'll make your hair messy and sticky, and it'll make your dick completely numb. but if that's worth keeping some hair on your head then it'll do the trick
>it will cost
Its cheap as fuck i'm on the trifecta the shampoo is nizoral, best decision ever.
I haven't really had any regrowth but the hair got super healthy, it was dry and brittle before, i guess DHT was killing every fucking hair one by one, now it shines and im not ashamed of my hair anymore.
> hundreds of dollars every year
Kek no, generic fin is cheap as fuck, minox is 24 bux for 6 months and nizoral is 5 bux and lasts 2-3 months.
About the limp dick its BULLSHIT, i did my research, i'm a med student let me find what i read to convince me to hop on fin.
>Review of the literature on ED in men taking finasteride revealed the incidence of ED to be between 0.8-33%. However, randomized controlled studies reported ED to be between 0.8-15.8%.
>Finasteride is a specific and competitive inhibitor of Type 2 5a-reductase. The enzyme, 5a-reductase is required for conversion of testosterone to DHT. It exists in two isoenzyme forms. Type 1 is predominant in the sebaceous glands and liver, and Type 2 is predominant in the prostate, seminal vesicles, epididymes, hair follicles and liver. Finasteride has no affinity for androgen receptor and hence has no androgen-related actions like androgenic, antiandrogenic, estrogenic, antiestrogenic or progestational effects.
>In men, 4-8% of testosterone is converted to the more potent androgen, DHT by the action of 5a-reductase enzyme.
>The administration of finasteride 5 mg/day for the treatment of BPH results in 60-93% reduction in circulating DHT levels from the baseline with a 15 - 25% rise in testosterone levels.[2,5].
>The effects of finasteride 5 mg and 1 mg/day result in almost similar changes in DHT and testosterone levels in serum, prostate and scalp skin. However, a significantly greater fall of prostate DHT levels after six to eight weeks of therapy has been reported in patients taking finasteride 5 mg/day compared to those taking finasteride 1 mg/day.
> The bioavailability of finasteride is not related to food intake.
>Male sexual function normally requires intact libido; the ability to achieve and maintain penile erection; ejaculation; and detumescence. Androgens, especially testosterone increases the libido. A variety of visual, olfactory, tactile, auditory and imaginative stimuli can also influence the libido. The penile erection is mainly under the control of the parasympathetic nervous system. The nitric oxide released from the non-adrenergic, non-cholinergic autonomic fibers causes relaxation of smooth muscles in the penis, leading to increased flow and accumulation of blood in the lacunar network of corpora which are converted into non-compressible cylinders resulting in erection. The nitric oxide is synthesized in the cavernosal tissue of penis by nitric oxide synthetase. Ejaculation and detumescence require intact sympathetic system.
[hint erections are hugely influenced by the mind, and the mind at the same time by test levels which will basically determine how easily you will get turned on]
>Unlike testosterone, DHT does not seem to affect the erectile function. DHT is a paracrine hormone exerting its action in the tissue of origin. The intact erectile function in the presence of low DHT levels in men with 5a- reductase enzyme deficiency and in men receiving finasteride, and restoration of erectile function in hypogonadal men in response to 7-alpha- methyl- 9-nortestosterone, a 5a-reductase-resistant androgen, suggests that conversion of testosterone to DHT is not necessary for penile erection.
Mind is a strong thing
>The ED due to finasteride has also been related to the nocebo effect i.e., an adverse effect that is not a direct result of the specific pharmacological action of the drug. In a study, the group informed about the sexual adverse effects of finasteride reported increased incidence of ED when compared to the group without such information.
>Dutasteride, a dual 5a-reductase enzyme inhibitor, reduces the DHT levels to a greater extent than finasteride. Several placebo-controlled studies have evaluated the efficacy and side-effects of dutasteride 0.5 mg/day in the treatment of BPH and prostate cancer. The ED has been reported to be significantly higher in the dutasteride group than in the placebo group (6.1% vs. 3.0% and 4.7% vs. 1.7%) during the first year of treatment. However, by the end of two years, the prevalence of ED was similar in both the groups (1.3% vs. 1.3% and 0.8% vs. 0.9%).
>The analysis of results of the above mentioned clinical studies shows no clear evidence of negative effect of finasteride (5 mg or 1 mg/day) on erectile function. Therefore, ED occurring during finasteride therapy should be viewed in terms of normal prevalence and natural history of ED in the population, age of the patient, other confounding factors, and also the nocebo effect.
Most morons saying fin gave them ED are lying and scaremongering.
Thank you for trying to comfort me robots. Ill try to go to sleep now.
>taking female hormones and finasteride
i think something might actually be wrong with me
try minoxidil for the beard m8, i'm serious.
It would take a lot of attention from your head.
I Have a fucking receding hairline and I'm only 18, I have like a fucking norwood 2 at 18. legit 6 months ago everything was fine and now I'm here with a norwood 2 at 18 years old, I'm going to be fucking bad before i'm 22
it started at 16-17 yo
now they are starting to recede from the forehead
>mfw i already got a gynormous forehead to begin with
just kill me senpai
Dude, he stops using that shit and switches to coconut oil and Jamaican castor oil after the first year. And he still doesn't have a beard. It's all genetics. No one in my family can grow a beard, so I'm not even going to try. All I can do is keep losing weight and get a buzz every 2-3 weeks. It sucks, but that's life.
Check levels, thyroid, maybe stress, stop starving, exercise like running, maybe lacking some vitamins, try dutasteride instead, but it's more expensive, spiro is shit and get on cypro. Maybe just genetics and few weak hairs falling out here and there, girls have that too, if it's from all over your head and not a receding hairline, people get old.
And lastly try your best! I know how depressing that feels
Count how many hairs you're losing in the shower.
If you're losing 10-15 everytime you pass your hands through your hair thoroughly then you are, and i'd hop on fin + minox + nizoral instantly.
I did that 6-8 months ago and hair got MUCH better.
I'm 18, 6 months ago my hair was fine, now My hair is thinner and my temples and receding so I won't be able to hide it anymore with long hair. should i start taking medication? I'm like a norwood 2
Balding anon here
I started to shave it when it got to the point where it would look horrible whenever I got a hair cut (you could see all the way down to the scalp). It sucks, obviously, but cutting it down is the only solution unless you want to try and take a bunch of specialty balding shampoos to try and keep what hair you have left.
Like i said it all depends on how much hairs you're losing.
I'd put some kind of white plastic on the drainage of your shower so it catches the hair you lose and then you count.
I used to lose like 10 15 hairs everyime i passed my hands through my hair thoroughly when on the shower, so i just hopped on fin, let me show you how bad i was at the crown.
Just take a look at this shit, it wasn't super bad but it was starting to get out of control.
And like within 7 months of fin this is my crown.
Notice how the hair is getting separated manually and still looks much fuller than before.
No hair comes out when I put my hands through it, my is thinner though and receding at the temples. I think I'm going to get on medication soon just to try and keep my hair for longer, whats all the medication I need to get? I know there is Fin is there anything else
nizoral shampoo 1%, this is sold without a prescription and i found some studies that said it works better than the 2% version.
Also i'd put some minoxidil on my temples if i were you, only on the nights and not the full ml they recommend, just apply enough to get them wet with the solution.
Taking pictures after seeing some shit about balding, don't even remember if it was on 4chin but i'd take some pictures just to make sure.
