Berserk is my absolute all time favourite manga, and the anime does a really good job portraying the first 30 books or so. The newer movies arent even too bad.

If Berserk is your favorite manga, I know another that you'd probably like. Did you ever read Devilman? Berserk was actually somewhat inspired by this manga with both of them being violent as fuck and having similar themes of friendship.
