The few times I tried peeing in them it was very difficult to do and I could only do it standing up. I was afraid the diaper wouldn't absorb my piss fast enough and it would leak.
I plan on getting some quality diapers in the future so I'll see how much better those are than the ones I used. Plus I loved feeling like a fucking degenerate.

It's good that you are trying and that you want to get quality diapers. As you use diapers more you will get more confident and comfortable in wearing and using them.
Try getting some good ones like those from XPMedical.com. The good diapers tend to be made in Europe, Such as Abrena Xplus(M4), Molicare Super, Tena Slip Maxi (no longer made unfortunately), But, there are some good US ones now too such as the Absorbency Plus from XPmedical, the Northshore Supreme from NorthShore Care (I haven't tried either of those but I've heard they are good), or Dry 24/7.

Funny you mention it. My gf wears pullup kind while she sleeps when she's on her period. If she had dated me in her earlier years, she would have probably worn thicker diapers because she had insanely heavy flow and would have to change overnight pads hourly.
