>>26287677 Let me add: >Smartphones >Facebook (Social media in general, which means more normies coming onto the internet) >Political correctness bullshit which makes everything less fun >People starting to make serious money on the internet with ads, selling user data, etc which contributes to the general shittyness of it >More jewish game companies with microtransaction, season pass bullshit Social media and ads are the worst part for me. norms should have stayed off the fucking internet.
>>26286600 When the government succeeds in neutering the internet like they want, whatever the next iteration of network we all end up on will just have the technical people on it again. Good times ahead brosef.
>>26287723 >tfw you'll never use Napster again >tfw Limewire was overflown by Trojan horse and closed >you'll never use AOL again as a web browser. >you'll never stumble across rotten.com and being totally disgusted for the first time.
>>26288068 Three of them are still going, only one of those started on the PS and they all suck. MGS is basically a movie, FF has had four good games at best, and the PS RE have been ported to better systems, like the Saturn and, later, the Dreamcast.
>>26287874 it's those technical people who took six figure jobs with google and facebook who can do no wrong and genuinely believe this interconnected social media internet of things vr dystopia bullshit they dreamed of as a child is a good thing
Before 2007 I made a shitload of bro tier internet friends who weren't pretentious sensitive assholes and had good taste in vidya, music, movies and had a great sense of humor. I used to meet all kinds of interesting people with lifelong friend qualities. They all just fucking disappeared sometime near late 2009 and every online community, forum and vidya community turned to complete utter shit and got flooded with what I can only call normies because these people who flooded the internet after the myspace containment website died and facebook exploded are fucking nutless sacks of self absorbed shit.
What the fuck happened? Did Obama single handedly fuck the entire world over?
>>26288347 For me its more like: >Logs into MMO I used to play >Talks to randoms still playing "No new generation came in" >The people still playing are the same strangers I used to play with, they just log on and AFK. They just can't get themselves to leave the game behind, but the majority of the community did.
I just feel like everything got fucking ruined. All of the niche nerd internet communities got invaded by normies. I can't meet any genuinely cool people who are into animu and cosplay at conventions because it's overrun with teenage attention whores with daddy issues and their beta orbiters. Actually, it was more ruined by females than normies. I don't even hate women, but they ruin everything they touch; the beta males who worship them are even more at fault, tbqh. Every internet community I've involved myself in over the past few years has been toxic as fuck, all in all.
Also, I remember when mods on forums were a part of their respective communities and generally lenient, but now they're all power hungry faggots who will ban you for saying tranny or nigger.
>>26289940 To be fair, most of the popular Jewtubers back then were normie teenagers like Smosh and Nigahiga, but idk. Something was just different. People were generally less faggoty, even on the websites with normies. Maybe a lot of them were cyborgs, as opposed to full-on normans.
Anyone feel that the 00s were like an "updated" version of the late 90s until 2006-2007ish or so?
Take for example pic related. That movie came out in 2004, but it could've just as easily came out in 1998. Then look at something like Hannah Montana: The movie. It was released only 4 years later, but it feels like a totally different universe.
2007 was the turning point, as it's when the Bieber iPhone shit 2010s culture started: >Big Bang Theory first airs >Apple releases the first iPhone >Johnny Ricitello becomes CEO of EA >NSA launches PRISM program >Kids stopped playing outside and became spoiled brain-dead shits >9/11 babbies turn 6 >Remaining 90s shows on TV ended >Normies began invading the Internet and casualizing it
>>26291085 I completely agree. The early 2000s very much resembled the late 90s, in the same way that the early 60s very much resembled the 1950s. In both cases, there was massive social upheaval. You wouldn't even have recognized the world in 1969, and the same can be said about 2009.
I honestly feel like social media ruined everything; turned people into self-serving, mentally unstable narcissists.
I had an online qt3.14 gf on there. Fucked her two times IRL, and found out a Chad in real life was fucking her. Not only that, but it's full of stupid sluts who think they're the shit because they have chemicals in their hair and have skin cancer from tanning beds. They'll be all dried up by the time they're 35 or 40 and I'll laugh when they turn into meth dealers and can't get a job in the socialist and PC society they created. The moment they complain, I'll swiftly tell them to shut the fuck up and get over it, because in all honesty, I don't give a shit.
They ruined the internet with their cancer normie bullshit, and they'll ruin MY children (if i ever do have any) with their smartphones and bullshit like that.
I'm glad I grew up in the time I did, because at least now I'm self-aware and not in a giant collective circlejerk called Facebook.
Fuck the internet. Seriously. Even YouTube is going to hell.
I was a kid back then, I was born in 96 but I can definitely relate to this.
Forums and communities were great, I made tons of friends playing online games and they we're really interesting people and I miss those times were the only achievement that mattered was the level of your character or your rank on the forum instead of how many tweets do you have and how many friends you have on facebook, I miss those times when there were no attention whores and people wasn't constantly taking pictures of themselves.
>was here in 2008 >back when robots were robots >robots now embrace the pepe shit as how to actually act >the cries of normie is treated as how you should act >they don't remember the cyborg threads >they thought the text having to be unique was a new rule just recently added >too weird for the normies too normie for the weirdos has been forgotten >wagecucks and pepe and tendies is just shitposting
>>26293945 >Post dates between 2007-2011 >people in comments post "like if your watching in 2015-2016" and other nostalgia comments like this was back in the 70s. What's making people rush back to old content? Is the new YouTube really horrible for everyone with the mass oversaturarion and people subconsciously go back to this?
