Ok I just started writing a Novel about a NEET who never leaves his room. How do I progress?
You should actually start it off as a very successful guy, right? Everything should be great, the most ideal life, but during chapter transitions, give hint that it's actually
him dreaming. At the very end it should have him staring at the ceiling after waking up.
By hints given, I meant that
he can't read the time and gets ribbed for it, he never reads anything that's placed in front of him, random people "appear" or transform in the middle of everything, sudden changes of scenery, etc.
This is like the Seinfeld in written form - a book about nothing
Write about waking up and jacking off to MILF porn, then playing 3 games of Dota 2 before going to Subway to pick up a footlong BMT. Maybe he decides to splurge and get a combo, cookies instead of chips of course.
The best advice for any writer is to write what you know.
Yes I'm doing something similar!!
My idea is basically a screenplay about my life now and how it could turn out if i was a bit different.
>guy works nights at supermarket
>gets influenced by some entity to commit murders and stuff at night
>may just be him being crazy its ambiguous
Doesn't sound so great but i have ideas for the whole feel and tone and the shots in my head. Kinda like taxi driver crossed with donnie darko ish
Stealing this idea anon, thank you :^)
>protag playing wii u at night
>all of a sudden the stuffed teddy tells him to go kill the neighbors wife
>chapter detailing him doing it
>couple chapters of ordinary NEET life
>another inanimate object tells protag to kill someone else
