/r9k/ was created to be an original content factory, which was the whole point of the robot not allowing duplicate posts. Basically it was made in the spirit of what /b/ was prior to 2007 or so. Over time it just became an echo chamber of hatred and self-pity. Every now and then you'll see a thread (usually greentext threads) that's harken back to what the board was when it started, but more often than not it's just depressed people telling other depressed people how awful they are. In the last couple years things like the comfy neet meme have showed some self-awareness, but pretty much everything posted here is quickly latched onto by stupid people who don't know any better and take satire seriously. So now /r9k/ is where angry people go to blame their problems and the problems of society at large on everybody but themselves.
