I just did an interview for The Music on Periscope and it was live streamed to promote my upcoming record Pool.
Watching back I was revolted at the response from viewers online. Basically virtual (spineless) catcalling through the whole thing. It's really sad that a woman can be talking about her art and life's work and men diminish her value to her tits and ass. Here's some of the comments that were blowing up my screen.
[insert a bunch of sexual comments here]
Here I am talking about my album, something great that I accomplished - and THIS is what you all have to say? This is the kind of blatant misogyny that we - all women - experience daily, as if we have no value known to man than that which serves him sexually or otherwise, but always less valuable than him. Whether it's body shaming, slut shaming or degrading women by reducing them down to tits and a pussy, it's the same disgusting shit and dudes need to be made accountable.
What I want is for guys who take part in this to be named and blamed - and for other guys who happen to take calling out misogyny personally - to LISTEN to our actual experiences and realise that this is part of a much bigger, much scarier problem than you and your little ego. My blood is boiling right now. This would never happen to a guy. No. A man is allowed to be good at something and talk about it and be heard. A man is allowed to accomplish something and be praised or have a skill or share his knowledge without being diminished to his genitals and what they might look like.
When her "art and life's work" are garbage, there's not much to talk about besides her tits and ass.
Matters are made worse when her art is overtly sexual and she is wearing something overtly sexual and revealing in every shot. How can you use sex to sell your music and then complain when people get horny?
>Here I am talking about my album, something great that I accomplished
It's not great. Nothing about your album is great. It's not timeless, classic, or even catchy. You're not Grimes, you're a fucking whore who has to show her tits and ass to sell music, who gets surprised when people talk about her tits and ass.
>"WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M CRYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
What am I supposed to do with this giant story about your feelings?
Why do women & liberals assume that I care about their feelings? If you're not my girlfriend or wife, I don't care about your feelings, so stop telling me about them.
>some people on the internet talked about a woman's sexual assets anonymously
ALL THE MANS ARE MISOGINEES AND MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE
I love this meme. Do women understand that people on the internet will literally degrade you for any aspect of your character regardless of what you are? Normies just can't handle the power of the internet. Can't wait for her to get absolutely BTFOd for this.
>song is basically nothing but sexual innuendo
>she dresses in slutty outfits the entire time and dances suggestively
>tons of shots in the music video focused on someones ass with nothing else
>"HURR FUCKIN MISOGYNERDS REDUCIN ME TO A SEXUAL OBJECT"
women are a fucking cancer
>diminish her value to her tits and ass
That is a females value you stupid cunt.
Does this bitch really want to pretend she is not trying to break into an appearance based industry?
If she were ugly there would not have been a fucking interview.
God damn women suck.
Of course, a woman's value CAN be more than her looks. Adele doesn't look amazing by any means but her voice carries her into platinum CD sales so....
Still, I find it hard to believe that this woman here isn't using her looks to get by, given the way she chooses to use her body in her music video. It's like a guy showing off his expensive luxury sedans and sports cars, then getting pissed off when people comment on it. Some of those comments on her body may be annoying, but i have zero sympathy for people who are blessed with good looks and what it affords them in life, only to complain that people find them attractive and don't state it in the most tactile ways.
even a female engineer/doctor will use her ass to get men simply because that's how they work.
is there more to it than ass & tits? of course. but the point is that you don't have to use them every fucking time to achieve something
This is the complete opposite of misogyny
and the funny thing is, you have no idea just how privileged you are
true though, nobody gives a shit about your shit album, it's most likely shit because women can't do music or anything for that matter
>So I was on the internet....
Wow, welcome to reality. Next time, maybe don't live stream an interview or pay attention to tweets. Or maybe just be glad you are so above the real world that you don't have to hear that on the street every day.
But sure honey, anything for your fragile ego. The men will start compiling all the misandrist and misogynist comment makers on the internet with attached identities, and the women will compile a list of all the people who cheat on their partner or spouse. It's gonna be tough but I'm sure we can put an end to these injustices.
>use her ass to get men
Well...yeah. If you're talking about romantic and sexual relationships, in order to attract a mate you have to be sexually attractive. Guys don't really care about your education, degree, earnings or career when looking for a woman, at least not initially. It's similar to how women don't prioritize niceness over being sexually attractive; being a Nice Guy is usually a neutral/inconsequential zone, and while it won't hurt your chances, it's not going to make you appear sexually attractive vs. working out, and having confidence and "Game".
Honestly speaking, yeah it sucks to have these guys give comments about her physical appearance. I get it.
Here's the part you aren't seeing:
Imagine you're a guy trying to make an album. You work really hard on it and nobody buys it. You're on the streets or working on McDonalds because sales aren't high enough. Happens more often than I wish. Nobody is physically harassing you but also you can't have a career either. Men have to sell talent far more than women have to
there are exceptions, don't list them all I'm making a general statement
Women have the advantage of using their looks to boost sales. It's pathetic but it's a way to make a living. These guys are the ones supporting your career, they're gonna act like animals when you give an interview. Go ahead and tell them to stop being fans, see how hard your royalties get hit.
It's a deal made with the devil and a price has to be paid.
name ONE female music artist that is considered good/timeless/classic
fact is, women can't fucking sing or create music and when they do all they sing about is relationships, sex and money
Agree. Attractive and good looking people complaining about attention, is like rich people complaining about paying more in taxes than poor people. Imagine saying "I don't like being so poor, I wish I made more money" and somebody else saying "being rich sucks, you have to pay more in taxes and people try to use you for your money". At the end of the day, having more money is going to provide a better quality of life (not living paycheck to paycheck, not being in financial ruin when your car breaks down, being able to afford healthcare in the case of the US, not having to stress about lack of money and having that bring negativity into your life and your relationships). People who insist that being attractive is "hard" do not understand that people who are unattractive or just average, and wishing they were more attractive, would not mind getting 'unwanted' attention because it's better than the little or no attention they're receiving now. Just like somebody who's poorer than you is not going to give a fuck that they occasionally attract gold diggers or have to spend more on taxes if they make more money.
Maybe I'm just annoyed because I can't relate to it. Like, I can't exactly "complain" about unwanted female attention because I don't receive it. I can't "complain" about my phone blowing up with all these girls trying to get at me, or feel that dating is hard for me because I go on all these dates and we don't click as much as I'd like (on the contrary, it's hard for me because nobody wants to date me).
I hate to be that Guy who insists that his life is harder than yours, but I wish people like her would appreciate what her looks provide for her. I doubt she wishes she was way uglier so people would leave her alone.
>i don't like/heard of this music so it's not objectively classic
Yup, just what I expected
>Literally only popular because she fucked Frank Sinatra.
But she is his daughter mate
>inb4 I'm a roastie now
literally both worthless druggies having their music made for them and then singing it for normies
next thing you're gonna tell me lady gaga is a shining example of a female artist after she inevitably overdoses on crack and dies
David Bowie was a druggie and everyone thinks he's god. So what? Almost all big-time musicians have/had a drug problem in their life. And to add another woman to the list, Lauryn Hill. Undeniable artistry.
>I hate to be that Guy who insists that his life is harder than yours
It IS important for you to tell people that your life is harder than theirs.
The metaphorical situation we're dealing with here is a guy with a broken leg vs. a really loud girl complaining about how she chipped her nail and it hurts like fuck and she needs everyone in the village to pool their resources to help her buy a new nail. All those resources are going towards people who don't deserve them if you don't speak up.
Case and point was that whole "walking through NYC for 6 hours" video that begged for donations/attention so that women wouldn't get insulting comments like "have a nice day m'am." I understand that it feels like a huge problem for them but we'll get to it AFTER the more important problems are looked at like police brutality, income inequality, etc.
I'm 200% sure that comment came from an arab or indian
She's from the UK and they definitely fawn over her more than Americans. I actually wish Americans liked her more. The B2B album is amazing, but you gotta have a taste for soulful "oldie goldie" music.
You do make a strong point. A lot of these "problems" aren't really problems at all. Many people would love to be a woman that's so gorgeous that no sane man would ever reject her, and more people were interested in them and wanted to befriend them.
I don't say this from a place of self-loathing either; there are things I like about myself, but I do occasionally envy good looking people and all of the options and good fortune they receive because of it. And it gets so bad that people who aren't exceptional looking get passed over, even if they bring valuable things to the table other than looks. This is just the result of humans that are biologically hardwired to desire certain physical features, sure, but that doesn't make it any easier for people who have to work extra hard to make up for not being conventionally attractive.
>men taught not to complain, and to deal with problems themselves
>also taught to look after women
>society generally does the same
>people now believe that men have very few problems, and that women are severely oppressed, because of all these 'problematic' situations they keep finding themselves in
>muh fallacy or relative deprivation
Well, I guess we all just gotta STFU forever about inceldom and loneliness, since there are people being enslaved, starved and murdered everywhere.
>I guess we all just gotta STFU forever about inceldom and loneliness
Are we asking for donations? Are we trying to rally people in the streets to have a parade about how depressed and lonely we are? The girl in the video made a specific CALL TO ACTION for men everywhere to self regulate themselves and make an effort to stop the harassment. She can feel however she wants but the line is crossed when she asks others to help her.
>>men taught not to complain, and to deal with problems themselves
>>also taught to look after women
>>society generally does the same
I guess we are on paper saving mode, because a lot of people seem to have missed that memo.
That isn't what he implied. He was saying that average guys/ugly girls have it harder than beautiful bitches and that it's OK to stand behind this, rather pretending that being beautiful is equally as challenging as being ugly/boring/unattractive. On the contrary, being attractive makes all aspects of your life far easier, from being able to wile your way out of speeding tickets to having men or women lined up to try to date you, to being more likely to pass interviews or be promoted, and be supported in general.
She's asking, not demanding. The people most likely to take action are the ones who have to put up with the problem themselves. They aren't helping out of compassion, helping is in their best interests.
>because she fucked Frank Sinatra.
Yes, beauty is a huge privilege, but receiving overtly sexual comments from strangers is not part of it. These aren't meant to be flattering in the least, they are meant to be degrading. If you have any doubt, try to imagine your reaction to a faggot in the sidewalk saying that he wants to ravage this juicy ass of yours. If you feel like you need to punch him in order to get your honor back, you know that sexual attention from men is often not a compliment. If you still pretend not to get it because harassment is cool as long as it is heterosexual, imagine walking next to your mom and witnessing her being catcalled like this.
>This would never happen to a guy. No. A man is allowed to be good at something and talk about it and be heard. A man is allowed to accomplish something and be praised or have a skill or share his knowledge without being diminished to his genitals and what they might look like.
Yeah, just look at all the ugly guys being cast as leading roles in films. Channing Tatum, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt, Mark Wahlberg, they definitely *never* receive attention and fame because of their looks. Oh wait.........
Also, my manager is a shorter, older women. She's respected by everyone and people take her seriously. I'm not saying I know your situation better than you, but I'm willing to wager that the reason you get so many comments about your appearance is because 1.) you routinely post pictures of your good looking self on instagram and shit 2.) you jiggle your ass and tits in the name of a "satire" video.
OK, well I'm way on the other side of the spectrum: I get zero meaningful attention from women, so I have no idea what it's like to be desired at all. To me any form of desire is better than being unattractive to everybody you meet.
Granted, a lot of this is probably my fault, as I possibly fail to put myself out there. On the other hand I constantly read about how much women want to be with tall, strong men...I can work out and get bigger but I can't get taller. And I can't get over how my looks/personality have previously been such a turn off a woman, and it's paralyzing to the point that not only can I not fathom making a change, I can't really "sympathize" with people who are so good looking that they get bad attention, since I get no attention at all. Please not that this is my own problem and nobody else's (i.e. shit I gotta fix cuz nobody else got time for that) but I want people to at least know where I come from.
And I'd still take being better looking over being undesirable any day. That's the main point I'm making here. Ask this woman if she'd prefer being completely homely and I doubt she'd say yes.
Also, some people are almost irredeemably ugly to the point that relationships are not up for grabs at all. At lest, I hear this from other people; I hear about how much people care about looks in general and I think it's pretty fucked up. Sometimes it really seems like looks are the only thing that matter, and that more looks=better life, period.
I know way too many attractive girls and guys who bask in attention, and all I can do is sit back and watch guy and girls line up to try and date them, and have their pick of every one. I see how girls hop from guy to guy without any issue because they have too many options for their own good. And I see how women with that many options are going to have higher tier guys presented, thus the likelihood that they meet someone new and start cheating seems to be higher, but it doesn't matter anyways because guys are still climbing over themselves to try to date these women, and the plainer or uglier girls routinely get passed over (though, not nearly as much as men do).
I'll concede that being sexually harassed/raped is not alright by any means and shouldn't be encouraged. But even then guys who act "rapey" potentially get judged differently if they are more attractive. A guy who hits on you that you don't like is a creep, a guy you like who hits on you is a stud. So am I supposed to take this seriously, or do I just go about my life?
As my main man Schopenhauer said it;
>Nothing different can be expected of women if it is borne in mind that the most eminent of the whole sex have never accomplished anything in the fine arts that is really great, genuine, and original, or given to the world any kind of work of permanent value. This is most striking in regard to painting, the technique of which is as much within their reach as within ours; this is why they pursue it so industriously.Still, they have not a single great painting to show...
Collecting art made by women is a poor investment because they will never get the critical reception of a male. No matter how great, genuine, or original - the media rags will always taint the legacy by pointing out the dress she wore to the gallery opening, or the scandal of her divorce, or the error of her personal beliefs.
> If you have any doubt, try to imagine your reaction to a faggot in the sidewalk saying that he wants to ravage this juicy ass of yours
If I'm prancing down the street wearing a jockstrap and shaking my ass in his face I forfeit all right to complain when he reacts to my actions.
>A man is allowed to accomplish something and be praised or have a skill or share his knowledge without being diminished to his genitals and what they might look like.
If a man likes big trucks, drives one, or is knowledgeable about them
Trucks aren't your thing? You like guns?
Oh you mean boats?
Oh you like history and books?
>withdrawn and small penis
Oh you like computers?
>small penis nerd
Captcha: pickup trucks
