Have you ever heard of this thing called the catalog? There are 10 pages in the catalog, and each page can only hold x amount of threads. There can only be so many threads in the catalog. So if the catalog is full and a new thread is created, then an older and less active thread has to be archived.

Global rule 3 can be used to arbitrarily delete most threads pertaining to /r9k/'s culture if the mod decides she's offended enough to deem something a "troll" or "flame". This is often unfortunately the case.
