First and foremost, I hate it's format. 4chan's threads are very pleasing to read because the comments are in sequential order. The threads/discussions on reddit, on the other hand, are a mess because they're all out of order. Even sorting by "oldest first" doesn't help much because it still displays new replies before older comments, and most people on the site don't read/respond to threads that way anyway. Reading it is just a mess.

And it goes without saying that the upvote system is horrible. It does indeed turn it into way more of a hivemind. Also, people dont comment to say something interesting or what's really on their mind, they comment to get the most upvotes. So everyone races to say the "funniest" or most interesting thing possible instead of naturally discussing something.

Finally the moderation seems incredibly intense, seems like you can hardly say anything thats not stricly approved. Being on 4chan for so long I'm really not used to that and I think it's very limiting/draining. In general, I think the less moderation the better.

The average redditor is almost identical to the average 4chan user except they're pretending to be nicer and to hold more gentle opinions. Yeah, outside of the main subreddits plenty of people openly have very non PC opinions. The bigger issue with reddit is the absolute intense censorship and moderation, and generally shitty community. Smaller subreddits are fine, but the sheer amount of posts that get removed is fucking insane

When you go from 4chan to Reddit everyone will seem like a desperate attention whore, since you're used to the anonymity and lack of interest in "internet points". Any community or forum that has some kind of post grading system will eventually go down the shitter.

You can say whats on your mind with no problem. You are judged by your post and contact. Freedom of speech and freedom of choice is hard to find now so even better.

Because Reddit interferes with 2 main 4chan policies

1. Anonymity, this is well-liked on 4chan since there's a focus on the post itself, and not the person who posted it. Part of the reason why namefags and tripfags are hated here.

2. Freedom of speech, on 4chan, all posts are made equally, you can view all posts just as easily, whether good or bad. This is a major flaw for Reddit, with their upvote/downvote system. It leads to karmawhoring, where a user simply makes a post for likes, adding nothing to the conversation.

Leading on from this, a voting system further alienates its users. Said something that went against the status quo? prepare to be downvoted into oblivion. It essentially creates a massive hugbox which we all mock to this day.
