A guy just made fun of me for not knowing first aid or how to solder something. Do people really need to pad their ego that badly? I know he's not dumb enough to think everyone learns everything
It is pretty pathetic that an adult male doesn't know how to solder.
>I know he's not dumb enough to think everyone learns everything
Yeah, you're just too busy just learning all those other things, that's why.
>It is pretty pathetic that an adult male doesn't know how to solder
It is, i don't know how you could argue otherwise. Anyone with an interest in anything technical(men) should know how, it's worse than not knowing how to change a tyre.
But please, tell us all the useful skills that you have instead?
>A guy just made fun of me for not knowing first aid or how to solder something. Do people really need to pad their ego that badly? I know he's not dumb enough to think everyone learns everything
No, nobody can learn "everything". But, one can learn basic life skills to become a functioning, fairly self sufficient adult. Soldering, basic first aid, and other task are such skills. And when a grown male, with access to a wealth of free information, just doesn't know how to do those things, he's prone to be ridiculed.
As he should be.

Yes, there is a wealth of information. Learning first aid is not required to be self sufficient and neither is soldering this must be bait or you're LITERALLY retarded.
How is soldering, something geared towards computers and electronics, a 'basic life skill"?
That's something you learn if you're into something that requires it, but I can name a bunch of Chads that dont know first aid or soldering. Quit being a pathetic bitter facist
>Learning first aid is not required to be self sufficient
>learning basic skills to treat human injuries isn't necessary
Kek, I'm just imagining you running to your mom every time you get a boo-boo.
>neither is soldering
>since we live in a society where the highest level of technology is an oil lamp
Get as defensive as you want, the truth is the truth.
kek, sure bro. You're into mechanical diy and survival yet you don't know first aid or how to solder? Is your idea of DIY changing the batteries in a TV remote and is your idea of surviving eating food and drinking?
Is your idea of survival eating and drinking?
>I find it funny how you think you can decide what other men are into to to hold up some masculine ideal you made up
That you're lying right now shows how insecure you are to portray yourself as my totally made up masculine ideal, I'd say it has some merit.
>How is soldering, something geared towards computers and electronics, a 'basic life skill"?
He says while posting on a computer and surrounded by electronics. Do you feel it's acceptable not to know how to change a tyre when you own a car?
>Kek, I'm just imagining you running to your mom every time you get a boo-boo.
Far reaching ad-hominem bro. I dont live with my mother and literally most people dont know first aid. You're a fool to think otherwise.
>Get as defensive as you want, the truth is the truth
Dude how delusional are you? Most people consider technology and hobbies within it for nerds and dont know shit about computers past their laptop. These people are fully self-sufficient and have no problems in life. You think some investment banker knows how to solder? You think most men on the street knows.....
10/10 bait. You got me
OP getting rused hard as fuck.
How new are you dude?
Well I know how to do those things;
My job requires that much at least.
Soldering is a common thing in some tech stuff.
I learn tons of skills thanks to the internet, surprised people are unskilled in so many things nowadays when we have it.
T. paco the taco
>far reaching ad-hominem
Neither far reaching, nor an ad hominem (it is an insult though, well deserved). If you don't know basic first aid, the next logical assumption is that you would need someone to take care of you every time. I'm guessing your mother took care of your boo-boos as a kid, and judging by your willing ignorance to learn how to, you never bothered to change that old system.
>You think some investment banker knows how to solder?
Are you an investment banker? Because we can go on all day about exceptions like highly specialized professionals, or address the issue at hand: you.
>literally most people dont know first aid
So most people are hilariously inept whelps, so it makes you being one less laughable? W/e makes you feel better
>NICE BAIT IM NOT LISTENING REEEE
kek, pure ego defense. Keep defending being inferior, it doesn't change the truth.
I did a survey of practical skills in college and a lot of people, both man and women, don't know how to do those things and more OP. Were never taught OP. Shit, some didn't even know what a credit score was.
Stop letting yourself get rused.
>Most people consider technology and hobbies within it for nerds and dont know shit about computers past their laptop.
Where do you live that tradesmen are considered nerdy? People with no mechanical inclination that did business studies and the like were the nerds when i went to school, not the guys in shopclass.
>some didn't even know what a credit score was.
How dare you suggest that there's anything wrong with this, not everyone can know everything afterall.
>being incompetent doesnt necessarily mean not knowing first aid
Not necessarily, if you're immune from all injury. Us regular mortals gotta know basic things like treating a wound. Well, the competent one among us, at least.
Your friend correctly identified you as one of the bleating, pathetic masses, suckling on society's teat for the most basic things. Judging by how affected you are, it sounds like it struck a nerve.
>it sounds like it struck a nerve
I'm not mad?
Also first aid is for others, very rarely will a situation arise that you should treat yourself beyond a cut or MAYBE a flesh wound. Most people are taught how to deal with those in elementary school since ts mandatory, but treating others isn't truly necessary, it's optional entirely.
>not making your community strong again
A people helps itself.
> very rarely will a situation arise that you should treat yourself beyond a cut or MAYBE a flesh wound.
You literally can't be more wrong; you sound like a sheltered middle class white male, to be honest. Maybe you can look up the stats on acute systemic crises, or see the rates on car accidents, or look up the variety of health emergency situations that require immediate action. Or maybe you'll grow up and see those happen; and watch the actually competent people contribute while you sit with your dick in your hand.
But you're right though, having a baseline level of competence is entirely optional. Mediocrity and being disgustingly inferior is widely common.
Your friend wasn't dumb enough to think that everyone learns basic skills like that, but he was accurate in his judgment of you.
It's banter, you just took it personally.
The idea is that most people learn CPR or soldering in school at some point (CPR was a gym curriculum for me, soldering in shop class) and you did neither of those things. He's throwing jabs and you just cry about it instead of jabbing back.
most people in my graduating class both at the honors magnet school I went to and the normal high school we were attached to didnt take shop. It wasnt required and no one really cared for it
>start being edgy
t-t-t-that'll show them
Shop is never required but at a point you are subscribing to electives and the choices boil down to female classes (cosmetology, food, etc) and male classes (shop, autobody/CAD). Basically you're a little bitch, and it shows in your emotional reaction.
What about that is edgy? Most people are out for themselves and you're pretty naive to think anyone else truly gives a shit. Go fuck yourself bro.
>failure at life
Dude I probably make more money than you, what the hell?
Our electives included everything from entrepreneurship to business to intro to engineering to C++. Sounds like you had very limited options at your school
>Watching one of you bleed out would bring me great joy
I didnt say that and clearly you cant into context of threads/are new if you think otherwise
>Imagine if I saved your life. That'd be awful
I did say this however, you're a prick who thinks he can hold himself above others because he learned something someone else didnt, so why would I save you? That's not edgy, you're an asshole and no one likes assholes.
And most normies are not fucking nerds whose prerogative is to learn C++. Hence, his banter jabs.
You have literal autism if you can't understand someone else's perspective (including its limitations).
>"I make more money than you"
>"Why are you implying that I want to help other people with first aid to begin with?"
>"y-you're an asshole for holding something over me"
Jesus Christ dude, I remember having to solder when I was like 14 for a school project, and I did just fine.
Just watch some Youtube videos and call it a day, all it takes to dot it is heat up the contacts and press a piece of wire into it, how can that be so hard ?
Stop being so upset, normie
Based on how much you're getting shat on right now, I would say this is the perfect reminder that /r9k/ is a normie board now and autists are no longer welcome here.
Shoo shoo, autismos.
