No matter how much you work out and how fit you get you're still going to die eventually. The last few years of your life are shit anyway. Working out may help you live til 90, but life basically goes to complete shit around 70 so who gives a fuck?

I do lift, I've done it on and off for a few years, my total time lifting has probably been about 1.5 years.
I got into it again in November.
I got a 410lb deadlift
and 150lb over head press
My main issue has been mobility, I only learned how to keep my back straight and use my legs fully this month. I think that's why my deadlift always stalled around 400lbs.

When I was 16 I got really interested in the movements. I got a coach and even did a competition. But then the depression kicked in and I quit. I still know all the technique by heart though.
I still do some power snatches, split jerks and stuff when Im at the gym. But I mostly go just to stay healthy these days, I'm not trying to get huge.

I misunderstood. I think lifting is the best thing you can do for your health though. When you're 60 your bones and joints will thank you. It affects pretty much every system but the bones and cardiovascular improvements are what you benefit from mont in age.

I got a stress fracture. After a couple months off I tried running again and couldn't do 2 miles before I was out of breath. I was doing 10k before the injury. Fuck cardio, shit is gay. I only hurt myself lifting once on deadlift and it was because retarded form. I never did it wrong again and it took all of 6 days and a bottle of ibuprofen to heal. My foot still hurts if I wear certain shoes with hard soles and walk on hard surface and it's been over a year. I nevnever tried working back up to it. I do the stationary bike for 45 minutes and just try to keep my heart rate steady.
I've consistently been working out with
dumbbellsfor a month or so. Still haven't gone to a gym because I'm a massive pussy. I can tell I'm not going to get any stronger unless I go to a gym, so I guess I have to suck it up or something.

Says who? I work at home because Gyms are fucking expensive here. 600$/year while the shit ones are 300$ and have like 200 people in them at all times. At home i have 80kg of weights, an EZ-bar and a straight bar. I do all my exercises people do in the Gym.
My squats were 20kg which are now 50kg, while my DL is 80kg and probably move since i need to buy more weights, while my OHB got from 20kg > 30kg which i weight 74kg.
Lifting is a meme. I do cardio so I don't get fat, but why on earth would I need to be stronger than I already naturally am? I can open jars and pick up boxes just fine, and for anything I can't lift there are simple machines to overcome this. People have been struggling with heavy things for a long time and believe it or not we figured out how to do it more easily than "JUST GET REAL FUCKIN STRONG".
