I weighed in at 213 lbs today. I'm a fatty but I want to lose weight. I'm trying to fill up on supplements and shit. I have a lot of them.
Who else /trying to lose weight/ here?
Reporting in. Weighed in at 265.6 this morning, which is down about 4 pounds from a week and a half ago. I decided enough is enough when I went up from a 38 to a 40 waist over a summer. Also I kinda half-assed dieted over the fall and when I came back from winter break I gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks because I just sat on my ass and smoked weed.
Honestly though I'm not really starving myself. I found this great app called "My Fitness Pal", and after giving it my information and weight goal, it gave me a daily calorie and nutrient goal to try to stick to, which I found is pretty doable, although I go to bed hungry more times than not. As I go through my day I just search in the app what I ate (Meijer chicken breast, Bushe's baked beans, Taco Bell, etc) and it subtracts it info from the goal. Basically I can eat whatever I want, but if I ate like 3 things from McDonalds or something then I would meet my daily goal in a single meal, so obviously I have to plan it out.
TL;DR if you are struggling with tracking your intake I recommend downloading "My Fitness Pal". Its free and has nutritional info and almost any food you can think of
When I was 14 I went from 160lb to 133lb in a month and a half by only eating ~400 calories a day. I'd sometimes binge, but when I did I just wouldn't eat for a day or two after. I pretty much lived on cigarettes and water
I live in England, only big name stores are strict with id'ing people and to quote a friend of mine "you've got the body of a 12 year old but a face of a 40 year old"
So I've been on a plant based diet, eating ~800 calories a day. Been really god for the past 2 weeks, and lost an inch off of my waist. This is a lot for me, since I'm 5'4 and ~115 lb. The results make me feel good, motivate me to keep on keeping on with the hungry.
Today was different. I ate a gigantic plate of fries with bbq sauce. Then, I went to Waffle House and downed a big juicy cheeseburger with steak sauce in like 30 seconds. Two sugary cups of coffee. One bag of shitty chocolate from Dollar Tree. Two bananas. What is wrong with me robots?
>using fitness pal for past 3 weeks.
>only had one good week of eating healthy food.
>log in junk food so I know what I'm getting myself into
This is today log. If everything goes accordingly to plan. I should weigh 170 by month.
You're weak, you don't get to eat for two days to repent.... cereally though, if you don't do that then you set yourself back by 2 or 3 days
th secret to weight loss is sickness. Eat some indian food full of poop. You'll have vomiting and diarrhea for a couple days and won't be able to eat. Just keep doing that till you lose the weight.
3 days could be pushing it a little unless you wanna go real crazy, you could always just do maybe 400 calories a day over 4 days, with lots of water so you don't feel totally empty, which'd be around the extra 2000 calories you binged? Either way good luck
ITT: NEETS who can't control themselves and are losing weight the wrong way.
Implying that starving yourself, against all human instinct isn't one of the greatest forms of self control
willing to help anyone in need of tips on dying :-)
So, fasting makes sense?
I have bulimia. I feel like I should say hi because I've never seen anyone else on 4chan with an ED. The last time I mentioned it in a comment, all I got was
>Kek, eating disorders aren't real. Throwing up is a choice
threads like this fucking baffle me.
all through high school, i was 5'10 120lbs. never starved myself, was never hungry, ate until i was full and then stopped.
at uni i realized that no girl wanted to fuck a skeleton, so i began lifting and eating more. it took me two years of serious lifting and eating until i felt like vomiting at every meal, not to mention protein supplements and creatine, to reach what i am now, 140lbs.
i eat a disgusting amount of food. i don't even enjoy eating anymore. if i ate a comfortable level of food, i would lose that 20 pounds in a month.
i literally cannot fathom how someone can eat enough food to become overweight, not to mention 213lbs. teach me your ways OP, i wanna get big.
Don't listen to the stupid fucks on this board. Fasting is a natural thing and it IS good for you. Obviously, you have to be wise about it and not do it solely for weight loss, but it has amazing benefits. I fast at least one day per week and I don't regret it.
I have BED and I'm not even fat (5'10 155lbs). It sucks so bad. I also deal with Night Eating Syndrome. That's something people definitely laugh at, but it's real. It's really real.
Anyway I recommend this book. It's helped me out.
I've got a stomach condition and eat at most once a day.
If you're starving yourself remember to drink a lot of water. Starvation is harsh on the kidneys and liver and dehydration makes it worse
You STOP, SIT, and OBSERVE.
Those thoughts urging you to binge are ALL from your animal brain (thank you evolution). All you need to do is observe them and know that that part of your brain has no control over your body. So it's about being aware. Some find this tactic easier than others, but with practice you'll be cured in no time.
You implied I'm a fedora-wearing neckbeard because I said you were losing weight the wrong way. I don't understand what you mean, and I assume you're a NEET because I just do on this board. But please, enlighten me with your erudite ways.
when i was 19 i started to feel really sick after every time i ate, so i cut it down to as little as possible because i hate vomiting. i went from 130 to 80 in 4 months and was eventually hospitalized
>tfw all food taste the same
It must be depression right?
all of them taste like sand.
I eat one meal a day (at dinner time), and drink tea/coffee the rest of the time. It was pretty hard at first, but the more weight I loss, the less I'm tempted to break what I've got going.
>i eat a disgusting amount of food.
What's a "disgusting amount" to you though?
I think you're either over-estimating how much you eat, or underestimating how much fat fucks like us can eat and still crave more.
>on a diet
>been really successful so far.
>cutting back calories now because my portions make me feel too full.
>I go hours without eating because I'm satisfied with next to nothing to eat
>also, kind of enjoy the feeling of being hungry because it feels better than feeling bloated.
>make it the entire day without eating
>almost 24 hours since last food
>about to go to bed
>effortlessly adding another 8 hours to the counter
this is a big point
you have to start enjoying the feeling of hunger. tell yourself it's a clean feeling, or that you deserve to feel some punishment, or that you are making yourself spiritually stronger...whatever works for you
associate hunger with mental fortitude...thats what i do. i care about being healthy but even more than that i care about having a strong mind
>How can you go the ENTIRE DAY?
Drinking coffee every couple of hours to kill my appetite.
It's still hard, but every now and then I'll hit like 210lbs on the scale and my self-disgust overrides my urge to binge eat.
Black coffee or coffee with cream and sugar? I drink at least 2L of water a day and that can stave of the inevitable banana, but I feel very negative physical effects from complete 0 calories ingested during a day.
What do you binge on when you binge?
Me; difference is I'm already a hungry skeleton. I'm 5'10 and weigh 130 wet. Usually I'll eat 1-2 meals a day, almost never breakfast, sometimes lunch and usually dinner.
It's not really on purpose, I'm just not hungry even though I start to feel dizzy or lethargic from lack of food. I try to eat in the morning and I just can't. Depression makes it infinitely worse and if it's bad enough I won't eat all day with no real discomfort. Smoking weed helps but in the long run isn't a good solution. Hopefully it'll cause me to die of malnutrition soon.
Calm your tits, I asked a question about his dietary habits. I dont drink coffee at all.
Why is sugar bad? Are you talking about sugar in heavily processed and refined foods or sugar found in fruit?
>smack dab in the middle of "healthy" weight all throughout high school (5'2" 110-115 pounds ish)
>go on medication a few years later that makes me lose my appetite so I straight-up forget to eat sometimes
>lose a ton of weight
>clothes look better on me now, I actually get male attention, even my face looks different (I naturally have pretty chubby cheeks and now they're hollowed and my bone structure shows)
>now I hover around 95 pounds but I still feel like it's too much
>give myself an allowance of 1200-1300 kcal per day
>out of curiosity, put in that number, my height/weight, and activity level into a calculator
>I'm eating at a 500 kcal deficit
>that's how much you need to lose one pound per week
hopefully I'm back down to 90 soon. it's difficult though because my parents get upset and say I look unhealthy but everyone looks like this
>Black coffee or coffee with cream and sugar?
I drink it with skim milk and those 0 calorie sweetener tablets. I tried water at first just to have something in my stomach, but there's just something about coffee that kills my desire to eat, even if it's just for an hour or two.
>What do you binge on when you binge?
Usually kebab wraps or Chinese food. Just blow like 20 or 30 bongdollars in one go and eat until I almost puke, then have massive diarrhea a couple of hours later. The whole experience feels really good to me.
Lol @ how it's always fat people claiming they "starve themselves". Nigger you aren't starving, you have enough fucking fat to last you weeks.
>grew up poor
>mom gave me $10 dollars a week to eat
>food at school cost $4.50
>could really only eat 2 or 3 days
>ended up just saving and spending it on drugs instead
>usually would eat once every 3 days
>now I have money but I hate going outside
>still only eat every 2 days or so even though I can afford to eat every day
>Mfw my coworkers complain how hungry they are because it's been 6 hours since they ate
>it's been 53 hours since I ate
>Why is sugar bad?
Sugar is poison, stay away from it at all costs, sugar in fruits isn't AS bad because it's not free sugar, but it is still bad, sugar in fruits won't rot your teeth for example because it isn't released until you ingest it.
Yeah, caffeine is a stimulant, and stimulants do wonders for killing the appetite. Do you get hunger headaches or feel lightheaded? Whats your activity level like?
Chinese food. Bruh. Why.
Dude don't starve, you need long term lifestyle changes. Leave out the fats and animal products, and eat rice, fruits and veggies instead. carb the fuck up and go ride a bike.
Watch this guy's videos, here's one:
After pretty bad head trauma I can't eat most normal food without throwing up. Pic related is what I drink all day. I miss food.
>Doesnt the human body need glucose for important processes
Your body can produce glucose from other shit.
But in general terms, you want to avoid sugar as much as possible, like those retarded whore women who want to appear healthy and eat muesli? The muesli that has 30g sugar per 100g? That's fucking retarded.
You don't want that, avoid sugar as much as possible.
Sugar just like salt fucks with your appetite levels, you don't feel as full as you actually are, but you crave more, sugar is addictive.
>Do you get hunger headaches or feel lightheaded? Whats your activity level like?
I don't get headaches, but I feel light-headed a lot. I also "see stars" a lot of the time when I get up too fast. I don't really know why that happens though, since I'm fat (about 210lbs) but not extremely fat. I don't do any strenuous exercise at all, but I go out walking for at least 1-2 hours every day.
>Chinese food. Bruh. Why.
Well if I'm being perfectly honest with you fampai, it's because I like it 2bh. Why, are you not a fan?
I was doing well the past week, on a 500 calorie deficit until I fucked up and over ate by 3000 calories today.
I'm short too, so my bmi is stupidly low. The only way to be "on track" for the week would be to fast until Monday, but I'm weak willed
800 calories is NOTHING, no wonder you cracked and started eating unhealthy foods again. a plant based, low fat, high carb diet works if you just eat enough! eat 2000+ calories at least.
In addition to not feeling bloated I also feel thinner and that I'm actively loosing weight when I'm hungry. When I feel hungry I go to the mirror and check out how I look. Also, I like how my jawline looks when I'm hungry. It kind of inspires me to keep going. It's not like I'm going to end up like one of those skin and bones anorexic people anytime soon. I'm down 50 lbs and plan to lose another 40.
It varies a bit from day to day, but usually I throw some oranges or clementines (peeled) into a blender with a banana, pineapple, frozen berries, a ton of spinach, coconut milk and soy protein powder. I can usually keep it down.
I can eat some solids but it's always a gamble and apply very plain things (it's better if its vegan.) It's also hard for me to use utensils so I usually don't bother. It fucking sucks. I used to eat whatever I wanted. Now I weigh like 120 pounds at 5'11".
First of all, I read that you ate "Two sugary cups of coffee. One bag of shitty chocolate from Dollar Tree." This is because of restricting calories, your brains didn't get enough glucose so you went for the stimulants (caffeine).
Secondly, who is this "her"?
1400cals a day is restricting, a lot. You need around 2500kcal, if not more to be able to exercise and actually not starve. Calorie restriction always leads to binge eating. remember this.
Are you telling me you eat 1500-1800kcal and you're not left hungry from that? Because to me this sounds like restriction, which is not needed if you eat the right foods, and leave out unnecessary added fats.
The poster that binge ate and I are different people, "her" refers to the poster that binge ate shit food.
BMR for women that size is usually around 1300-1400. Factor in activity level and MAYBE 2000kcal would be fine for an athelete.
2500kcal is enough for a 5'10+ adult male, way too much for a 5'3/'4 female.
Im 5'3, 115lbs and I eat around 1300 cals a day. Rice, fish, fruit and steamed green veggies with salt&pepper are my dietary stapes. I feel full when I eat on a regular basis, fish and rice are very filling foods thatre also low calorie.
I guess I don't understand how food works. For years I eat maybe 1000 calories a day or less and I've never been below 200 lbs. Like, a cup of soup or a slice of pizza for lunch and a peanut butter sandwich or some leftovers for dinner would be my average day. Any less leads to severe headaches, fatigue, nausea, etc.
Do skinny people literally not eat anything ever? How do they not die? Isn't it really really unhealthy to just -not eat- plus how terrible it makes you feel?
Starving won't make lose weight. In the contrary you'll just end up having more weight cause your metabolism will slow down from hunger.
Try to eat smaller portions, Healthy foods, Vegetables, Fruits, and tea and do some exercise everyday for an hour you'll see some result in a couple of month.
if you are going to starve yourself at least do it the right way
look up the rapid fat loss handbook by Lyle McDonald
basically 800-1000 calories of lean meat a day plus as much non starchy vegetables you want.
fat will fly off you.
Phytoestrogens fuck up man hormones you idiot.
This website has some good data, though not specific to soy:
And a correction: there's soy lecithin in soylent.
There's quite many.
This one has pea + rice protein in it: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/mrm/veggie-elite.html
This one has pea + hemp protein + loads of other stuff: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/vega/one.html
Go on google and search for "vegan protein powders" or "plant based protein powders"
I went from 230 to 167 thanks to abusing 4-fa adderall and etizolam. Everything was perfect until my supply ran out. I ended up failing out of college and gaining most of the weight back. fast forward 6 months I still don't feel normal but I'm making progress. I hope I don't get kicked out.
>Honestly though I'm not really starving myself. I immediately tune out when I hear shit like this. I want to lose weight, I don't want a new fag hobby.
Iktf so much pal, I think I've kind of "recovered" now though. I also didn't end up huge either, which seems to make people take it even less seriously. The morning after a huge binge makes a hangover seem like nothing.
It took removing a lot of shitty things from my life, getting therapy to deal with things that weren't BED, and basically forcing myself to stop counting calories in my head. Moving in with other people also helped, partially because being around people more makes you more accountable but mostly because I wasn't able to engage in old binge related habits (no longer live near preferred pizza place, binge food store isn't on my way home any more).
Breaking my black and white attitude of "I ate too much food might as well eat everything" was the hardest. That kind of attitude still affects other parts of my life though. I'm now losing weight just by eating as little as possible, whatever that might mean on any given day.
You are though. By starving yourself you're losing weight but it won't last very long, since eventually you'llr evert to keep eating fast food god knows how many times a week and you will gain the weight back.
If you wanna lose weight, you shouldn not just use Fitness Pal to count calories, learn to cook and changeyour dietary habits so you'll be eating healthy and thus having an easier time maintaing an adequate weight. Also I'd recommend exercise, it speeds up the process and by building muscle you don't look like a pathetic skinny fat
You sound like my friend. He's Auschwitz mode, but eats like a horse- People in general have different metabolisms. Yours just happens to be faster than the rest. You'll probably gain weight in your 30s
Anon, you're not defying any thermodynamics laws. If your weight stayed the same it's because you ingested enough energy to keep it at that level.
Watch more closely what you eat. Get help if necessary
If i can advice anything, you MUST check out how many calories you need to lose weight (around 500 calories less than needed for weight maintenance is good) and stick to it. You can install an app to keep the track of literally everything you eat. It will be helpful at having control over what you are eating. Take around 1.25-1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodily weight, so e.g. if you weigh 180 lbs you go with 225-270 grams. It will be ok if you take less. It will make you feel less hungry and help lose weight faster.
Remember once you lose like 2 kg you will have to calculate your daily calories intake again to keep the progress.
Plan out you daily meal plan around it and while you do it keep in mind to ABSOLUTELY cut out fast food, sugar (especially processed, but cutting/drastically limiting things like fructose and natural honey would be ideal - and yes juices aren't a good thing to drink as well, UNLESS they are freshly squeezed from fruits and vegetables), bread (preferably all, but you can just avoid white bread if you cant afford it. And yeah some 'brown' breads are just white bread with food colouring, so make sure you are buying a wholemeal bread or some healthier substitutes), pasta (again, at least white pasta and rice) and fried things.
Absolutely avoid using things like sunflower oil or any substitutes for animal fats like margarine, they are a shit. Perfect thing to use would be clarified butter and coconut oil. Olive oil is a respectable replacement, but most plant oils are harmful.
You may feel like cutting out a lot of things from your meals is something impossible to do, but there are countless recipes in the internet you can use to combine what you have. If you aren't feeling creative you can stick to just a few kinds of meals that work well for you, that is what i'm doing right now.
Drink a lot of water, at least 2.5 liters if you cant more, to keep your organs intact. I also recommend drinking apple vinegar 1 spoon per glass of water daily, at least 0,5h before breakfast. It will make you less hungry.
Drink green tea and herbs that will help your liver and kidneys. You can probably buy some packages of herb combinations in supermarket or pharmacy for cheap, that write 'for liver etc.' on it. You can also buy different kinds of herbs that are used in those mixtures, only separately. Herbs really helped me with dealing with some liver fatigue i have acquired after few years of excessie drinking.
Of course it should go without saying exercising helps a lot with weight loss and strengthening the whole body, so try to do some bodyweight exercises at home if you dont feel like going to gym, if you do a set of exercises regularly 2-3 weekly (NEVER on consecutive day) it will improve your bodily greatly. If you feel like you cant do any big exercises, try with some easier ones with less repetitions, then once you feel like the exercises are relatively easy to do, add more repetitions and harder versions of exercises. Spend 0,5h-1h at least on them and make sure you get tired. Start with a good warm up and end them with stretching so you don't get injures.
If you don't get to exercise at a day it is ok, just find a way to get your body moving - bike, jogging, dancing, walking, housework, anything.
To conclude you should remember that losing weight is a fairly slow -depending on your performance, most of time- but steady process, so don't get discouraged if the current day doesn't go well for you and you eat too much calories just note how to fix that and promise to yourself keep going. Get used to some changes in your lifestyle and it will guarantee to give better results. Always remember it is about needing to get in a better state than you are in currently, not getting to an idealised state no matter what.
Starving is a terrible idea and might result in you wanting to eat even more, get some eating disorders etc, so drop that idea.
Wish you and anyone that got to this point and want to lose weight good luck.
PS.: As for the supplements you say you plan to take, what kind of supplements are they? You will get all the vitamines and necessary nutritional values from food, so they may not be necessary.
