why do so many girls who do good in high school decide to go to college for fucking art? Like what the fuck do they think they are going to do for a living? The 3 top people in my graduating class where all females and all 3 went to art schools. Are they just delusional and think Chad will take care of them?
>Like what the fuck do they think they are going to do for a living?
I know many people who went to art school who make a comfortable living illustrating for companies, one even became a storyboard artist, and many do freelance work, drawing fetish porn commissions online. And they get to chose their own hours which is nice.
Sure, you can get jobs and make a good living sometimes but how many people that go to school for art do you think end up in a comfortable position? Also, they were the TOP students in our graduating class... Meaning they could do almost anything and be successful but choose the lesser path drawing pictures all day
True. Graphic design is easy to pick up, you can major in art or even go to art school and fuck about for four years or concentrate on your own art projects, then transition into design once you graduate.
Majoring in graphic design OTOH is pleb-tier. What do they even teach, "This is a fill tool". You might as well put a header on your resume that you're mediocre.
>choose the lesser path
lol do you think there's a problem with too many people not choosing to work in STEM or what? or is this just another case of "stop doing what I don't like"?
I seriously couldn't give a shit what they do I'm just trying to figure out what compels someone into something so financially irresponsible
Also let me be clear they are NOT in graphic design... From what I can see they put on normiebook all they do is Make shitty sculpture and borderline mediocre paintings
im gonna take psychology, then get a doctorate or whatever and get a job in research
kind of embarrassed to say that i'm taking psychology though, because people think i want it just cause it's easy or whatever
People see college in different ways. Some people see it as an opportunity to find something they like to do, others see it as a way to get a good paying job.
Personally I see college as a good investment in my future, I cannot imagine going to college for some abstract reason. It is literally thousands of dollars a year, you should make sure you can recoup that loss with the skills that you learn.
A friend of mine is working on his masters from an art school. Got a degree in graphic design and only does freelance work. Currently working on jobs for two different large companies and getting paid 5k a piece. When he needs a break from those he works on his own personal projects that he sells online. He just sold a fucking graffiti canvas for $350 and just got invited to sell some of his model trains thst he painted at some art show in NYC
If you are talented and somewhat creative it really doesn't seem like a horrible route
You have the exact same mindset as myself I can't justify spending massive amounts of money and taking out loans just to learn how to draw a picture.
As I've already stated they are not in graphic design. it seems idiotic imo to go to school for art and not want to persue graphic design
Buttflustered as fuck omega male detected.
Here's how it works, omega.
They spend the years 'studying' and major in existentialist 14th century enema painting and then they go on to do a post grad in arts admin while working part time at galleries and art supplies stores. A revolving door of Art-Chads - who all look like they're the bass player for an indie band - plow the fuck out of them in every way possible, high on benzos and weed and cheap wine and MDMA, Eventually this all leads to a job as an assistant in the design team of a museum and invitations to better parties.
She then focuses on Alpha-Art-Chad, who actually worked hard in a creative field like advertising or art direction or whatever and is now making shitloads overseeing ad campaigns for multi-nationals or directing shitty reality TV. Comfortably married and living in an inner city loft, she now gets to work part time in a gallery, focus on her pilates, and plan their trips of Oslo.
>spending this much time writing about your own fantasies
>implying I don't work in a creative field and have to deal with literal teams of these women wearing deconstructed smocks and Y-3 trainers that make them look like Chinese factory workers in $600 sneakers.
>spending this much time being a butthurt little pleb faggot.
Everyone is trying to escape the grind.
The thought of working every single day for the rest of your life, dedicating your energy to either doing some bullshit computer work or manual labor is soul crushing. These people can't face the reality of being a wage slave and think they can become one of the few people who do a hobby for a living. Of course this delusion catches up with them after debts add up and they realize they have no marketable skills in society.
It's a stupid decision, but I can understand it.
Because any girl that is 5 or better lives life on easy mode. A girl can fail as an artist, but it won't matter because all she has to do is get a guy to take care of her.
That's why young men kill themselves so much more than young women. A young man whose future looks bleak is screwed, if he can't take care of himself or live the life he desires, he is screwed. If a young woman goes to art school but had no future as an artist it wont matter because she will still be able to live a desirable life and have at least a decent future because all she needs is a guy to make money for her.
Honestly, what he said isn't far from the truth. Modern First World women are literally the most privileged, pampered group of humans to ever exist, barring the exceedingly wealthy. They can fuck up virtually as many times as they want, as hard as they want, and there's still almost always someone there to save them from their own stupid mistakes. Really, in the end, stuff like poverty, homelessness, loneliness, depression, suicide and unemployment are mostly suffered by men.
>Are they just delusional and think Chad will take care of them?
men are thirsty as fuck women can always fall back on a thirsty financially stable guy. welcome to female privilege.
I know a woman who has been a "photographer" for twenty years. She never made an operating profit but has state of the art equipment. She was married to a lawyer, divorced him, took his money, and married another one.
This. A girl can do whatever she wants. She can live at home with her parents, she can spend years and years in school (not even getting a masters), she can work a low paying job, she can be unemployed, she can be on benefits. She can do all these things and more and still be able to get a boyfriend. If a guy were to do any of that past a certain age (23 at the latest) he will NEVER be able to get a girlfriend that is slightly below average or better. He will only be able to get an ugly GF. A girl can do all those at any age and still get a decent looking bf with a decent job.
Let me abundently clear, the three women which I was referring to in the OP post are LITERAL 2/10s if I were to post their pictures you would understand that any Chad swooping her up is a long shot but still there are millions of ugly beta fags willing to support them eventually so they can use their wet hole
Jesus fucking Christ. how is this fair to men? why do women get to be born on top while males get to be born at the bottom as disposable utility? it should be mandatory that every single man should be redpill on male disposability and on female nature. women are fucking parasites and the the redpill is the cure to this fucking disease you call modern western whore.
Not every art degree is bad though. If they're attending a college that specializes in specific arts they're probably going to be okay. If they're doing something that's just like art at a major college that's pretty stupid.
There's a lot of jobs open for art majors. Animation, architecture, graphic design, film degrees, interior design, industrial design, sound design, visual effects. These are all jobs that are needed.
>my cousin is going to do journalism
laughing my prolapse off
Well what did you major in? With any art degree you have to put yourself out there. If you just sat around doing nothing while you were in school and not building contacts that your fault.
I majored in graphic design and right out of college I got a job that pays me around 60k a year. Not a lot but still average middle class wage and I haven't been in the company for long and I can also pick up a lot of side work.
A female friend of mine studied art at college.
Now she works works for Activision creating artwork for Skylanders and S2 games doing the art for Heroes of Newerth.
She earns more than at least 99% of this board I promise you that.
A bunch of my female friends graduated in graphic design, they design all sorts of shit now from magazines to websites to jewelry and clothes. They make pretty good money doing something they're interested in.
do you think she would have achieved the things she has if she were ugly or fat? this isnt to discredit her abilities but i do find it hard to believe that her being hot wasn't a major factor in her employment
Because courses/degrees mean jack shit in the real world so you might as well waste your time doing something more fun. Major in chemistry? Not going to get you a job in that field just for memorizing a few pages in a book, you're lucky to even get a job of fast food/retail just like everyone else who, even those who went into business, because the bar is set high and no amount of grades are going to mean anything compared to actual experience.
My mom just wants me to get my faggot papers.
I know that I'll just be cleaning puke outta things and spraying shit off of bathroom walls.
I'm a piece of trash, and my lot in life is to wallow in trash and eventually die.
