I do a strength-training based lifting routine because I want to become stronger, healthier and more confident
Bodyweight workouts are fine but they severely limit how strong you can get. Of course improving yourself take a myriad of forms but physically I believe you cannot neglect strength just like you cannot neglect cardio and health.
I would definitely recommend strength-training over bodyweight.
Heavy compound lifts at low reps for strength rather than isolation lifts at high reps like the faggot "lifting for girls" aesthetics lifters

Not who you're replying to, but I prefer body weight cause it doesn't put as much strain on my joints (elbows especially, I have bad tennis elbow).
I still do squats because it's hard to target legs with just body. But for arms upper body all I do now is push ups, pull ups and dips, which are plenty challenging with variations.

go to /fit/, read sticky, go to qtddtot (questions that don't deserve their own thread) on /fit/. Be upfront with them about what equipment you have and what you are looking for. Ask for a bodyweight routine with progressions, and ask how they would recommend you use the equipment you already have to supplement the routine.
Here's a few key points about your goal before you start:
