ITT: We post good robot feels that have happened to us lately
On 2.5 week of weight lifting, my squats were at 44lbsx5 at first where's now I'm doing 110lbs x5, i believe i may be able to go a little more. I'm a skinny lanklet who weighs 160lbs.
I'd get laughed right out of /fit/ but it sort of feels good.
I go go a bit more than 5 but that's what i do since I'm on 5x5.
>tfw squat 405 x 12
How long have you been lifting? i used up all my weights for dead-lift and squats, my overhead press is on 66lbs which i have a very long way to go.
Even I'm struggling slightly doing 5x5. But it's fun.
fuck you I thought I was doing good with my 10lb dumbbells. might have to go buy some 20 or 40s.
also I have no experience and cant tell if this is a meme plan thats just fucking up my joints.
It's really good progress though, fuck /fit/ man most are elitist as fuck and will shit on people for starting at the bottom using lower weights, which is fucking normal. That and people will try to troll you into failing.
btw this is a good starting routine
>also I have no experience and cant tell if this is a meme plan thats just fucking up my joints.
Since i have been only lifting for 2.5 weeks, hell that workout plan looks quite a bit for a beginner.
5x5 is for beginners to gain the strength before you move on to a full routine like you listed, last i heard. I might keep up the 5x5 strength training for a few more weeks since I'm liking it.
I did the first squats I've ever done in my life today
85 pounds 3x5
I've been going to the gym a lot more consistently, and my stoner friend moved away so maybe I'll spend that time lifting instead of just smoking weed. I just want to have some sort of muscle on my arms before summer, that's all I want. Not even just for sluts, I just want people to take me seriously as a man
your fucking retarded its better to do a brosplit, than 5x5
5x5 is if you want to be a powerlifter, which if that is what you want then disregard what I said
its for pure strength and even then there are better routines then that for strength
>but really do not start with that its a literal troll routine you gonna look like jason blaha
post your body, i want to see how ripped you are.
Then why is what is on the /fit/ sticky SS and 5x5 variants? I don't get it. I just want to look like this >>26027268 chap but a bit smaller, not spend ages trying to build up strength and be frog mode.
This is all just so confusing. I just want to be a bigger version of ottermode.
>from last summer im fuarking fat right now been bulkin since then
Babby gains breh, everyone quickly gets significantly stronger than they once were when they begin to lift. After 1-3 months your gains will slow down.
Make sure you're eating a lot and lift at least 4 days a week. When your gains start to slow down I'd suggest you start keeping track and make sure with every exercise you do you get at least one more rep total in all of your sets than the last time you did that exercise. I'd you don't, do a fifth set at a lower weight and get a lot of reps.
Also change up your routine at least every 2 weeks.
Not getting bigger is easy, just stop increasing weight once you hit where you want to stay. Your body will naturally stop gaining size eventually anyway.
Don't listen to otters if you want to have a program to build, cut is ALL DIET.
This guy is tiny, just cut, which is all diet. If all you want is to be cut and somewhat similar to this size, just do any basic weight routine and get your diet in order.
>This guy is tiny,
By whose standards though? to me he is big, I am a skeleton and even getting to michael phelps level would be a massive improvement over what I am now. My limbs are very long and spindly.
Didn't say it didn't look good, just stating it isn't some magical feat of working out, it is all diet. You could probably reach the muscle level within a year if you get your diet in check and just do a basic compound lift routine with some basic supps.
By any grown man athletic standards? I mean if he was a featherweight boxer, he still understands he is a small guy, that's why they call it featherweight.
>Not getting bigger is easy, just stop increasing weight once you hit where you want to stay. Your body will naturally stop gaining size eventually anyway.
Doesn't really answer what I am saying. Apparently I won't get that kind of body just from doing SS or 5x5, this is where the confusion lies not on how to maintain.
I don't want to ass around on something that is meant to make me look like a massive body builder, when really I am just a lanket who wants to look normal with some perks.
If that is small, then I'm not even in existence. I'm not talking about competition wise, I'm talking about the average joe, or even the average robot which happens to be skeletons.
If you haven't worked out before you can go in and fuck around like an idiot and gain muscle. The initial shock for 6 months to a year will be intense and your body will shoot up in size as long as you have increasing resistance and hit the major bodyparts.
5X5 works just fine and short of a competition lifter or athlete, you won't find some magic bullet without some serious analyzing of performance by a professional. People pay a lot of money to gain the edge for this shit through research and specific tailored programs for a person. You are just going to be an average dude, 5X5 would work just fine.
Not him, but another guy. I mean what the fuck man everyone says 5x5 sucks dick and it's shit, and that it will make you look like a faggot. But now you are saying it's fine? Should we all continue doing 5x5 or not? i just want to look good, not big, but nice thin and some definition on my body.
Also what other exercises should i add to the 5x5?
Also why'd the guy delete his picture?
> StrongLifts 5x5 is a great beginner's program, but may not be a great choice for intermediate and advanced lifters. Simplicity and practice pays off for the less-experienced individual, but lifters already aged with iron need a bit more programming complexity to make continued gains in size and strength.
>StrongLifts 5x5 is a great beginner's program
>StrongLifts 5x5 is a great beginner's program
>For an intermediate-to-advanced lifter looking for the same cognitively liberating simplicity, but with loading parameters that build strength, I'd recommend the Texas Method or 5/3/1. We'll tackle those programs in the near future and see how you can use them to maximize your strength gains!
He deleted his picture because he looked like a faggot as a result of his 5x5 routine. 5x5 sucks dick and it's shit, and it will make you look like a faggot. How do you not know that? It's 2016.
Low body fat and those closeup pics with no frame of reference throw off your perspective on size.
Who is everyone? Bunch of teenage dipshits on 4chan? If you want to actual look to someone, find people who actually compete in athletics on a high level. Go look at some football training programs, they are brutal but produce some serious strength and endurance. Low body fat is all diet, so don't try to made a routine around being slim, that is all what you eat.
It is a bunch of broscience kids, don't listen to them. The average guy will gain just fine off a heavy compound program, 5x5 isn't gospel, but it isn't bad either. Generally getting the fuck in the gym and doing something is the best place to start. If you want a catered program, talk to a trainer.
Alright pal, cheers for the input that makes more sense now. This is literally all I want to look like, I have the same sort of frame and wingspan, meaning my limbs are freakishly longer than they should be like him.
How long would you recommend someone stays on the 5x5 routine before doing something else? These routines like; >>26027268
Feel like you'd be stuck in the gym for hours every day.
You could fall into that with your eyes closed, super easy, all diet. He burns a shitload of calories from swimming, but you could probably hit that with just a basic sport like swimming/rowing or something along with diet.
Unless you juice, you don't want to spend more than about an hour lifting, which is why any maintainable program natural is compound focused. Usually just a few major lifts each session 3-4 times a week. Most of those isolated exercises come from bodybuilder programs, which are pretty much all on some sort of hormones which help recovery and let you work out heavily.
Why you so negative?

Alright i'll keep at it then.
I'm just trying to help. 5x5 sucks dick and it's shit, and it will make you look like a faggot. I'm a different guy from all the guys who said that before. We're all different. This is a truth that everybody knows. 5x5 sucks dick and it's shit, and it will make you look like a faggot.
This is a thread about fitness you gay queer faggot. Wanna blow each other, homo? Fuck me in my tight little tush? I'm so teeth-gnashingly horny for rough ass-play with men right now.

And a picture of a guy doing squats.
You conveniently forget those parts of the post, faggot?
OP if you are still lurking 5x5 is fine for beginners, don't listen to the idiots itt, talk to trappy on /fit/ in the /routine general/ thread. You can actually trust trappy to give you good advice.
