Microsoft is the reason why you pay for online on consoles and some other shit.
They actually wanted the console to be connected online 24/7, using discs as glorified game installers, not being to play used games, etc.

But yeah, it's all fucked. Imo the last good vidya generation was the PS2/NGC one. It all went to shit since then.

As a 29 year old most technology and whatnot doesn't bother me, it's just the subtle degradation of wholesome goodness that gets to me. I look at little kids walking around today and they all dress like university students.

I look back at a school photo from when I was like 10 years old and all the girls are wearing formless mom jeans and sweatshirts with pictures of animals on them. All the faces are white except maybe one or two.

to be fair myspace, as much hate as it gets, was the lesser of all evils in terms of "social media". It was more about building your own personal space and showing that off to friends, as a more accessible web page sort of thing. Shit like twitter, facebook, and youtube where everyone is expected to share everything they're told to and just generate a lot of attention for things is a far cry away from what myspace tried to do.
