how does one treat sore throats

Horribly hungover. I'm starving but I know that I won't be able to keep anything down so I'm just going to lay in bed and feel sorry for myself.

Tea brewed with liquorice root. I swear by this, it has cured muteness for me when my problems with sore throat were at their worst.
