Anime is, axiomatically, cancer.

Anime relies so much on character archetypes that the overall variety is actually scarce.

Anime is such an amazing medium. Compare it to Western animation which is almost entirely aimed towards children and families, and the very few animated series meant for adults and teens are ONLY comedy: with anime you have everything from action to horror to full-out porn to drama, etc.


Unfortunately 90% of anime is a misunderstood high school boy who constantly keeps tripping over something and falling on a girl's boobs who he secretly has a crush on and when that isn't happening he's constantly deflecting all of the random pussy that's thrown at him.

"90% of all anime" is an exaggeration senpai, but definitely most of anything that's part-comedy is going to have "boy accidentally gropes girl" in it.

As a whole, there definitely is a huge variety. American animation is Disney and Family Guy.
