When I talk about this insight with people, I usually formulate it that way:

As a side note, a similar thing could said about sports: When you grow up, you may idolize several athletes who are older than you. This stopped for me when I hit 30. Now people who look older than me (40+) look old as fuck and I just want this aging to end. Sure the manliness is still few steps ahead and I feel like a kid compared to those older men, but so big numbers of them are showing the signs of their bodies falling apart due to decades of bad habits and natural aging process, that I'm not sure I even want to be that old.
