The scene that makes me mad is when she makes fun of his mom to make him kiss her. They are in a narcissist/codependent relationship.

Kind of hard to determine what all is wrong with Shinji. He of course has the abandonment issues, but he also seems to have like a fekking Oedipus Complex and even be autistic at some points (he compliments Rei by telling her she reminds him of a mother and that she would "make a good mom, and later masturbates over Asuka's comatose body).
