>born into this universe Look on the bright side OP. you could have been born into a universe of only gas, or particles that don't interact with each other flying through empty space forever. Imagine being some sort of sentient being in such a place.
>tfw I will never see what aliens look like >tfw I will never be able to ask unsolved questions to intelligent aliens who are far more advanced than us >tfw I will never be able to see what aliens think of our earth music or movies.
They are out there, AS I FUCKING TYPE THIS. THE UNIVERISE IS TOO FUCKING MASSIVE. We are still bounded by the speed of light and almost certainly them too.
>>25801963 >see the colonization of space. >implying it will ever happen Humanity will live a couple centuries then wipe itself out. Live with it. also interstellar travel is impossible on the scale of human lifespans.
Just try to imagine how the most technologically advanced species in the universe must be. We'll never see them. We'll never see their culture, their civilizations, their tech, their lifestyle, their bodies.
>there are galactic federations RIGHT NOW >composed of hundreds of species, expanding through countless planets, with a massive population, a terrifying army and all kinds of political intrigue >as we speak, there are alien senates discussing the administration of new planets that they can potentially terraform >scientists that have long since mastered warp drives, worm holes and a lot of shit we can't even imagine >we are stuck on Earth posting in a vietnamese folklore dance forum
>one chance at life >born as an incredibly privileged human at the top of the food chain instead of some random piece of shit animal that has to struggle constantly to spare itself another day of being viciously devoured and torn apart
>you will never go to a nightclub on the moon of some distant planet >you will never have alien bro's and friends >you will never be part of an intergalactic society Meanwhile we live here where close minded individuals will inevitably be our own undoing
>>25802375 this >tfw born as a Eukaryote and not some shitty bacterium >tfw born as a multicellular lifeform and not an Amoeba >tfw born as an animal and not a fucking leaf >tfw born as a cordate and not a cockroach >tfw born as a mammal and not a fish or some shit >tfw born as a primate and not some mouse, doomed to die after a couple years >tfw born as a human and not some chimp, too unintelligent to understand his own place in the universe or decode the stars
>one chance at life >wasted in 1990~ - 2070~ >the era of memes, stupid millennials, technology budget going towards vidaygaymens development and general budget going towards killing sandniggers for their oil
I have grown to understand that with a sufficient sample size of people there will ALWAYS be contrarians, and they will be the most likely to post, and with the most vague evidence possible.
>we're already about 80% through the "tech tree" Ah, how many people have said this in the last few hundred years. I will enjoy laughing at you faggots in 30 years. Keep posting this garbage, will make it most satisfying.
>>25802528 every era is like that desu. Even if you lived 90ad - 170ad or any other time your life would still be >memes, they have existed since the dawn of humanity >"millenials" the younger generation who ruin everything >killing sandniggers (persians, saracens, moors)
>technology budget goes towards games theres a technological budget? games fund themselves don't they?
>yfw humans are one of the oldest races in the universe >yfw we're one of the most intelligent races >yfw we will one day colonize the entire universe >yfw aliens in our galaxy will curse their luck at not being born close enough >yfw other space species will get weird primate and humanoid like implants to look more human and will
>humans become the first species in the galaxy to achieve interstellar travel >we become the precursor race for the Milky Way >millions of years later, other species stumble upon our tech and study our history
>>25802707 It's impossible for the human mind to even fathom how large the universe actually is, there is no edge of the universe, it's constantly expanding and goes on for infinity.
You can try to imagine it but there is no way you could, all you need to know is the universe is infinite and all directions never stopping or hitting an impassable wall, I'm having a minor panic attack just thinking about it.
>>25801697 >untouched planets But I seek something more beautiful. A still more glorious dawn awaits. Not a sun rise, but a galaxy rise. A morning filled with 100 billion suns. The rising of the milky way.
>>25802699 >>25802693 Okay, then lets assume you'd wake up to a distopian cyberpunk future a la Transmetropolitan that is so degenerate and disturbed that it breaks your mind, leaving you a poor crazy hobo in a society that doesn't give a fuck about you. I'd still do it
>>25802963 Did you even read the fucking thread, I literally just said that the universe is infinite in all directions. It has no edges and does not stop at a certain point, it's impossible for the human mind to fathom that concept but it's the truth.
The universe never ends and it does not sit inside of something, it is all that exists and all that will ever exist.
There is nothing outside the universe it is infinite in all directions.
>>25803044 >>25803062 We are told that before the universe existed there was just infinite blackness, there were no stars, planets, galaxies, suns, etc.
All the mass apparently gathered into a single focus point until the pressure caused it to collapse creating an explosion that we know as "The Big Bang"
The explosion was so massive it created the universe and filled the empty infinite space of blackness with different elements and what not which created planets, stars, organisms, life, etc.
So pretty much the Big Bang created everything that is and ever will be. We are kind of getting into some really strange territory now, a lot of people will bring a religious argument into this and say that God created the universe or he intimated the "Big Bang" himself.
THE MIGHTY LORD SNAPPED HIS FINGERS AND EVERYTHING IN REALITY WAS CREATED BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Now imagine what existed before the planet earth was even formed? It was just endless space, humans didn't even exist at one point going back like 500 million years into the past or even over a billion years into the past and earth/humans never existed, the planet hadn't even formed yet.
And then we get into the question of "Where did humans come from?" and that's where we get the story of Adam and Eve and God creating humanity but pick the planet earth? Why decide to create humans at all?
These questions make me want to kill myself, I'm having such a panic attack right now. Fuck this thread and fuck you people for making me think about all this shit, I just want to be held ;~;
>>25803179 Your explanation is very bad anon, don't confuse people. >All the mass apparently gathered into a single focus point until the pressure caused it to collapse There was no mass before the big bang >It was just endless space No, there was no "space". The beginning of the universe was the beginning of time and space.
>one chance at life >tfw born a blue mud-eating nitrogen-based sentient gromn! nt'laxian wormlet on the smallest moon orbiting Ss'telgaroonni-click-click-12 with smaller than average pectoral reproductive diffusers >tfw no triad with which to mate during the upcoming tetra-eclipse
>>25803220 That is the problem of causality my friend. For cause and effect to occur there needs to be time to take place between them. Before the creation of the universe, there was no time, so how can there be an effect? The explanation of how the universe was created is far beyond our comprehension. Like anon has shown, we can go back to the beginning of time and see how things played out from there, the "big bang" being our best guess. But as for the cause, we will likely never know.
We are apart of the universe, the universe just experiencing itself and we happen to be those experiences. So does that mean the perciever never dies? I don't mean my ego when I say the perciever, my ego isn't real and is just made based on my environment I grow up in. But we we are the universe than dies our perception really die?
>>25803031 The universe could be inside of another massive planet.. I had seen somewhere that the brain is wired just like the universe they look very similar.. what could this possibly mean though? Why are humans so curious, I feel as if I'd rather be completely ignorant to it all at this point rather than spend my whole life obsessing over why I am here.. it starts every morning and doesn't even end when I am back in bed at night.. it haunts my subconscious and conscious mind constantly. I just want to know the truth really.. why can't we figure it out.. am I simply an experiment will I wake up from this to real reality? what the fuck.
