I finally finished Serial Experiments Lain since it seems popular with /r9k/.
I didn't really understand much of it, but I liked it.
>watching nip trash
no wonder you faggots are failed abominations
I think the last one I finished was Akagami no Shirayuki-hime. I finally got tired of waiting for GJM to get their shit together. Second cour just started, I'm going to watch it tonight. Would recommend the show to anyone.
The principal audience for late night anime is adults.
I've been watching Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, AKA Hakanai. I'm currently on the second season. I've been watching lots of animes to try to find another anime similar to Toradora and Sakurasou that's also good like those animes.
I watched Ebichu the other day, it was cute for being about a bunch of perverts.
I'm surprised you liked Toradora, I always thought the characters were too unrealistic and kind of odd. I thought the ending was bad.
I enjoyed the romance but still. Try One Week Friends.
Akatsuki no Yona is good too (and will hopefully get a second season). Something I find particularly interesting about it is how the guy who kills the heroine's father to usurp his throne turns out to be a much more competent ruler, and maybe it would be better to just leave him in charge.
It's purposely symbolic yet usually overrated considering it is symbolism for 15-year-old edgefags. It's interesting and well done but there isn't much to understand other than it being about a crybaby growing up while piloting robots and fighting angels.
I'm not the one pretending that Eva has some kind of deep incomprehensive plot comparable to someone like Schopenhauer.
Do you browse that Eva-board with all your theories or something about Shinji's hands?
Soo-Won is a big anti-villain
The manga has the best arcs right after where the anime ended, so read it.
There's no sign of S2 so far. The anime exactly covered volumes 1-8 so you can just begin at the start of volume 9 with no problems.
Last anime I watched was Highschool DXD, I started it for the fan-service, but the anime is just so good x.x
I guess I could pimp To Heart here, because I think it's criminally underrated and overlooked. If you like romance/slice of life type stuff you might like this one. Especially if you like more realistic shows than, say, something like Nisekoi.
Fairy Tail was alright, the first 100 or so episodes were the best
although the grand magic games arc is my favourite
Maybe I enjoyed it because at the time I hadn't seen much anime so I wasn't as aware of all of the tired, overused tropes like "nakama power". After Fairy Tail came back from hiatus in 2014 I realised how downhill it had gone. I realised how repetitive it was and how bland and 2D many of the characters were. I've dropped it now but I might rewatch the original series at some point for dat nostalgia
Ok I'll use "adventure" next time. But I still don't see how being shounen automatically disqualifies something of being good if it's not refering to a genre, since eg mirai nikki is shounen aswell.
The conclusion to the first episode was cool as fuck when the music came on and the credits rolled.
rewatching akame ga kill
The last movie I watched was "Spirited Away" (2001) however the characters were so cruel and emotionally absent I haven't watched any more because I didn't want their cruel standards and social norms to become acceptable to me.
The last T. V. show I watched was "Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne" however it was too weird and the torrent I got omitted episodes so I had no idea what was going on.
>tfw couldn't find a single doujin with keito from the manga
I got that same feeling from Howl's Moving Castle. I don't know why people like those movies. Only good ghibblishit movie is Kiki's Delivery Service, but oh boy is that one good.
Only the best, the only one with a true robot
I'm on episode 07 of OPM. Just finished Lupin III V4, and all of Saki before that.
I thought the first was was ok or pretty good. But the second season took things to another level. You should definitely watch it.
Currently watching this, it's kind of funny but like 80% of the gags are:
>characters are in a silly situation, like humming a song trying eagerly to find out its title
>put on very serious faces
does it get better?
Thought it was pretty decent, not an instant recommendation but was enjoyable.
Watched Ah My Goddess for the first time in about a decade. It was alright -- good enough to make me start reading the manga.
And furthermore, what is the problem with Tumblr anyway? It's a blogging and image hosting service. You can host anything there. Even porn. It's full of images of all kinds and a high traffic site. Hence its high ranking in image searches.
Try western media for a change of pace. Western cartoons, animated films and live-actions movies/tv series has a lifetime of amazing content just waiting to be watched and appreciated.
Alternatively, take a break from anime and media for a little while (if you're capable of it). Distance makes the heart grow fonder.
It's inspired me to learn a second language. If anything, it's lead to me improving and becoming a more interesting person.
That's what I'll say to you when I learn Japanese one day.
watching Korean cartoons?
Gas yourselves the a lot of you.
So I watched this one anime that I think was new last summer. I don't remember much but it involved two detective like guys. One of them was deaf. There was also some whore that they saved.
I was drunk as fuck so I don't remember the name. Anyone?
The unfortunate thing about Haruhi today is that they fucked up the episode order and didn't tell anyone. The amateur movie episode was originally the very first episode of the series when it was broadcast on TV, but now it's in the correct chronological order towards the end of the series. The problem is that the episode was never designed to be seen that way, it was designed to be seen first. It doesn't work in chronological order and doesn't have the correct effect.
Did you watch the movie?
I don't watch any anime. A weeb friend of mine convinced me to watch the first episode of One Punch Man. I thought it was shit, and apparently it's the most critically acclaimed anime of the past 10 years so that really doesn't speak well for the rest of the genre.
your friend is a retard and watches shit anime. pokemon is also critically acclaimed and one of the most watched anime of all time, doesn't mean it's good. anything that is popular and a normie or failed normie discovers is probably shit.
try out death note, steins;gate, or black lagoon if you want something decent.
Anime covers almost everything live action does. There are about 40 new shows/sequels released every three months these days (in addition to whatever movies come out). One Punch Man is one show in one genre.
Yeah, I saw a lot of people mentioning that it's in chronological order, and yeah I saw the movie, watching The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan at the moment
Thought it was good, don't have a lot of shows to compare it too since I haven't been watching anime for long
Yuki-chan is a very uneven series, but I think it's worth seeing just for the "disappearance" arc, which is when things get serious.
Going to go all the way to part 6.
Been watching Ore Monogatari. What did you guys think of it?
One of the worst shows I've ever seen (or dropped, rather). It's all because of that scene where he sexually assaults Sunakawa. The scene has no trace of humor in it, it's played completely straight. And it's supposed to be a comedy and the protagonist is supposed to be this sympathetic good guy. It's one of the most bizarre, out of place things I've ever seen in anime.
If Sunakawa was female, the Western anime community would have gone nuclear. But because it was male-on-male, nobody said a thing.
rewatched Cowboy Bebop not too long ago, watched Paprika and Akira recently as well but those are movies. have Kaiji, Gangsta, and Jojo's bizarre etc downloaded and waiting for me but getting into anime has become difficult.
OPM, dropped it after the 1st episode because i've already seen a superior sentai parody.
Aku no hana.
I love animation style of it even though people think it's bad
Just finished Yuyushiki. Wish there was a second season that wrapped up their final year at high school though.
The talk about beans made me stop and think "They really said that shit?"
what do u think 2D heaven is like guys? will we all make it to paradise and spend eternity with our waifus? sometimes i just wanna die know I'll never be able to meet my waifu
Ghost in the Shell Arise
I was so disgusted with it I turned it off before it finished and haven't watched any anime since. I still have my little collection of bebop, champloo etc but I just dont think I can stomach all the typical tropes in anime anymore. All the overly dramatic 20-somethings screaming about how angry they are while dashing towards their enemies while blushing about their crushes. Its all just too much for me now.
I am currently watching XXXHOLiC
Last thing I completed was the second session of Rozen Maiden
desu desu desu desu desu...
That does not count the fact that I also will be watching toonami tonight because I have nothing better to do and 12am and I enjoy it.
>All the overly dramatic 20-somethings screaming about how angry they are while dashing towards their enemies while blushing about their crushes. Its all just too much for me now.
>in Ghost in the Shell
Granted I have not watched Arise, but that sounds like bullshit.
