>Uhhh hey there son -- you finding a job yet?

I need to find a job.

I don't have a huge network of friends.

Every store or business only accepts online applications.

Minding all this, please give advice.

Thanks.

No. I live in Oakland, CA, a major city, so it was easy for me. I just googled it. What kinda town are you in, OP?

Craigslist
Usually they'll want you to work the whole 'job'/project which can be as short a a few days or several weeks.
>>
>>25769516
Very large urban metropolis, Los Angeles.

What can I expect from a temp agency, besides that they find me a job? do they take a portion of my check? do they accept part time?
>>
>>25769563
Temp jobs are often part time. They pay the temp agency a significant fee, but you won't know what it is. They should assess your skills with a test and hook you up with a job that matches those skills. Here's a relevant MetaFilter thread http://ask.metafilter.com/64740/How-much-is-the-Temp-Agency-that-I-work-for-getting-paid-for-my-services

tell him he's a fucking idiot for falling for the American dream and that he's being cuked by the American government and the capitalist system in general.
>>
>>25769563
You work at xyz inc. answering their phone or sorting their mail or whatever, but your checks come from the temp agency. If you make a good impression the company might keep you on for months, if you're really amazingly valuable they might buy you out from the temp agency to fill a permanent position, but that's rare. Otherwise the job will end and the agency will try to slot you in somewhere else. Tell the agency that you're looking for part time and what you're good at, it's their business to get you out and working because yes they charge Xyz inc. more than they pay you.

Just apply anywhere?

My autistic friend got a job at Target like two weeks ago. Just apply online then bullshit your application

Done
>>
>>25769421

Lie and bet on a lazy HR person to rubber stamp your application. ALWAYS bet on other peoples' laziness.
>>
>>25769421
i will hire you to suck my dick once a day for $10 a day, you can also live in my basement, it comes with free wifi.

>No car
>No drivers license
>Only worked two years at a restaurant
>Going to college and need money so took the semester off
>Don't know anyone so had to go back to my parents
>They're letting me stay as long as I find a job and don't freeload them
>They live in an area where there's zero job openings for miles
I'm so desperate for cash I'm seriously considering whoring myself off or something.
>tfw I'm not a girl so I can't get money from people just for existing and looking pretty, or flashing a pair of tits
>>
>>25770540
This is exactly my fear. I dropped out of College because my ex and I fought a lot, I was up late as fuck with her on the phone and wasn't focusing on school. Not only that but my Grandpa had been diagnosed with cancer and I had a lot going on. I don't want to drop out again. I feel like I have to choose between a job and College and College doesn't give me spending money so it's a pretty clear choice.

In a perfect world I'd work like twenty hours a week while in College studying to become a therapist but I don't feel like I'm stable enough emotionally or psychologically to do that. The last time my ex texted me and told me about her life I almost threw in the fuckin' towel on everything. It's insane how she can just tear my entire being apart even now.

>chemical Assistant
you clean vessels and prepare expirements for the Chemists or Biologists, a womans job though which requires to learn a trade.
Search for your closest laboratory in your city

>apply for a the civil branch in your military
varies from cyber warfare specialist (god tier) or the simple secretary
for some you have to come trained though

>go for Officers training if the military is appealing
Although most assessments are not easy and better be taken well prepared regarding your physical and mental capabillities

To find jobs in the military search for your nearest recruitement office

>storage facillity worker
that's a good robot tier job, drive around on a forklift and move boxes, requires two hands, one foot and a pair of eyes
Usually depot stores are your best bet to find this line of work, the second option is anywhere where they sell natural resources (stone, wood, etc) they have a huge storage there.
>>
>Every store or business only accepts online applications.
So? Apply online.
If they have some dumb personality test, answer the way they want you to answer; make yourself seem like a mindless slave to rules and policy.
>>
I like >>25769442 a lot

But if they accept online applications only go in anyway and ask for the manager, supervisor, or hiring team. Whoever really that's in charge and ask them if they're hiring. If they are even remotely related to the hiring process it'll increase your chances they'll remember you when they see your name in their inbox.
>>
>>25769421
Got to a temp agency or walk in to a bunch of fast food places and ask if they are hiring. If you get hired to work for a temp agency you'll most likely be working in a warehouse for like 10 hours a day. I worked a peak season at a warehouse and the pay was pretty good but they worked us to the bone.
>>
I'm getting a sales job at a call center selling advertising space. It's 30k a year plus commision. If I meet quota its 40-50k a year. Going to pay my way through film school with it because I already live on 20k a year here.

i have school, my afternoons are usually free - how likely do you think they will be able to accommodate a schedule like mine? (which is part time)

I can however, see working like a dog on the weekend. thats no problem i guess.

>>25771080

>>
