My mother just showed me a picture of my high school bully receiving a Law degree in the local newspaper. She usually does this sort of thing when one of the locals achieves something, she feels the need to demonstrate that I have not met her standard. I can't tell if she honestly can't remember he bullied me or what, but it was a major contributor to my ongoing 5 years of heavy depression. she seemed taken back when I reacted angrily. Funny thing is she'd probably be shocked if she found my corpse in my bedroom now.

I am a NEET and 21 years old, and my mother makes me want to kill myself. If you have children why do you expect them to be so successful? You should be comfortable with the possibility that they may not achieve much with their life and that is fine. Just let me live out my meager existence in peace. I can't compete with people in this life, and I am done trying.

I don't care about his successes, what irked me was that my own mother shoved it in my face. I was friends with him once and it all turned sour. I just can't tell if she forgot or if she was being cruel.
