One time I was in college and I went to a party, got pretty drunk and high. My gf texted me as I was walking home and said "Fuck you fag, I just cheated on you lol we done." I started crying and going back and forth between rage and deep hurt. I got my shit together, smoked a nice bong rip, and remember I had some goldfish in the kitchen. Fuck yes! Goldfish have always been my favorite snack. Every time I eat them I remember my childhood and it warms and comforts me. I go the kitchen to get my goldfish. They're not there. I search everywhere for them until finally I see an empty bag of goldfish in my rommates room. I realize he has eaten my goldfish. I'm too drunk and high to go get some. I soak in my emotions all night, unable to enjoy the simple comfort of my favorite snack. Eventually can't take it anymore. Suicide attempt. End up in hospital. Psych eval. Therapy for months. Family will never look at me the same. Could've been avoided if I had my goldfish.
