What's exciting about staying in the same 25 mile radius your entire life. There's an entire world out there to explore. Yeah you can google it or look at a book but nothing beats the actual beauty of something new first hand. I don't like traveling, it's just a meme. However, I thoroughly enjoy the activity of skateboarding. Because of that, I enjoy traveling if the purpose of the trip is to skate places that don't exist anywhere else. For example, traveling to San Francisco to skate the historic spots in that city is something that I would enjoy.

For traveling to be enjoyable, you need a reason to do it. For some that could be photography, or maybe they're really into trees and want to see exotic tree species in person. Traveling just for the sake of it is ultimately unfulfilling

Nothing makes you realise how shallow the concept of another culture is, especially in this day and age, until you live there a year. Literally the only thing I miss about it is tortillas and swordfish being commonplace in the supermarket.

And with other people it's always the same shit. People who've gone to impoverished areas of Thailand, experienced "culture", sat with a sedated tiger and want to do it again. For all its faults, the second Inbetweeners movie got their summary of this attitude spot on. People who say travelling is their life/what they live for make my blood boil. So you live for 3/52 weeks of your calendar year? Go fuck yourself.

OP, travelling can be fun you just have to find stuff you find interesting, for one I love camping and you just can't experience different climates by staying in just one place so you have to travel.

Some people like photography and they travel to take pictures, others enjoy architecture or history so they travel to meet new buildings and places.
