I used to have 20 pimples on my face at all times. It was fucking disgusting. People would wince when they looked at me. I also had multiple oozing whiteheads I couldn't get rid of.

I was prescribed retin-a but that didnt do shit. I later tried aczone (cream) in the morning and a topical antibiotic at night and most of my acne is gone. Took about 3 months.

Was also frequent washing my face (2x a day), exfoliating 2x a week. Changing the pillowcase every other night.

I also drink 2 cups of water a day so that's bs too.

I started regular swimming for 30 mins every day and bad acne disappeared after a month or so. Chlorine clearing pores and bacteria. it made a huge difference. Hard to do initially as you have to show your skin in the pool but went early so less people about.

There's a way to deal with that, but it's very painful and you'll be left with scarring no matter what. First, start washing your face with lye soap and something abrasive enough to scrape away acne blisters and some skin. You will be in pain every time you bathe. Get your hands on some antibacterial ointment and apply it two or three times daily until your face starts to heal. This will take about a month. One things have healed nicely, wash your face with regular (not deodorant, dove, etc.) soap and mild oxidizer. You should continue that indefinitely, and avoid using shampoo in your hair.

What you want to do is still shampoo but only do it once a week. I only shampoo once every two weeks now because I've been slowly weening off of it. Shampoo robs natural oil that is great for your hair and scalp.

I once had an infected cyst (started as blackhead) that grew to almost four inches in length on my back, just under my shoulder. I was just out of reach normally. I finally couldn't stand it, and I finally contorted myself enough to get the fucker one handed. I don't know how much fluid was actually extracted, but it was enough to cover my mirror and sink in hot, sticky pus, and almost a pint of blood. It made the bathroom smell like death, and I was on the floor nauseous with pain and some kind of vasovagal response.

I ended up needing to go to urgent care for stitches when the resulting wound wouldn't stop bleeding, but I would almost do anything to experience that kind of catharsis again.

My skin is finally starting to clear, so I have this mixed feeling of regret that I will probably not get to pop for relief but my appearance will get better.

What helps is washing my face with olive oil, rubbing it off with a hot towel and then sleeping on it. Over night the excess oil is gone and you're left with a smooth, moisturized face.
