I wasn't really attacked, but I met some crazy guy a few nights ago.

It was late, maybe 2am. In the city. I'm just walking along, minding my own business as I do. I look over, and on the side of the street there is this guy just staring at me, just some white guy, he was dressed in a suit and everything. So probably not homeless, but I was a little creeped out and kept walking.

I turned around to see if he was there still, but he wasn't. he had crossed the street to my side of the pavement. I stared at him again, by this time I was pretty worried actually. He just held up his hand and waved at me. I waved back and then keep walking.

I looked around around maybe thirty seconds later to see if he was still there, but he wasn't, he was back on his side of the pavement, directly across from me. Smiling from ear to ear, then he just starts dancing.

At this point I think he HAS to be on drugs, or maybe drunk. But he doesn't look like someone on drugs, and he's too coordinated to be drunk. He danced across the street towards me and got within maybe 6 feet of me still grinning and dancing. I'm still staring, I don't know what the fuck is going on. Am I going to be robbed? Stabbed? He waved at me again, and then just sprinted down the road away from me.

At this point I'm just, like, whatever, fuck this. I started jogging in the opposite direction of him, I was pretty tense by this point.

After maybe a minute I like around more clearly, and I see this motherfucker on MY side of the street just sprinting towards me, waving his arms around like a spastic and still grinning like a mad man.

I just run for it, towards a more populated commercial street (the street me and the crazy guy on had nobody on it at all, not even an cars.). Hopefully far away from him.

I don't even know anymore. I think he was either trying to fuck with me, or was just legitimately insane.

I feel sorry for murricans. every nightwalk story is about being scared or getting robbed. I can walk around at 3am and be 99.99% sure nothing will happen

I was walking home one night from my night shift, i live in a pretty nice area not a lot of crime so wasn't really worried. About half way there is a whole bunch of thick trees that cover the footpath so it becomes really dark and shit. Halfway through i see a guy walking in front of me carrying a briefcase or some shit. Think nothing of it try and overtake him so i can get the fuck away. It was around 4am at this point so i was a little sketchy because almost no one is ever out at this time. I pick up my pace and finally pass him. As soon as i do he calls out "hey man got a light?" Smoking the cancer sticks so i cant really say no. Turn around "no problem man" He just smiles and lights up his smoke. I get my lighter and go to walk away. "Hey man don't you want to stay and listen" He pulls out a fucking violin no joke and just starts playing all while puffing on the smoke. He fucking sucks just screeching. Say it sounds great, don't want to piss off a potential psycho. He stops and laughs and spits on the ground like 5 times. Says he knows it was shit and i shouldn't be so rude asks if my mother ever taught me manners and shit getting pretty pissed off. I'm just saying sorry over and over at this point. He just laughs then starts playing again. This time it was fucking beautiful really nice music. I just say woah man nice that was great. He just looks at me laughs again says "i know" puts it all away then walks off. I have never experienced anything like it in my life.

last night i walked about 5 miles from my friends birthday thing to my house at 2 am. it sprinkled lightly off and on. felt really good.

I used to when I lived with people I didn't like which was always. Now I'm all by myself. Best decision ever.

I don't night walk but sometimes drive down to the beach and smoke a few cigarettes.

There's always people fishing no matter what the time is but I go home when the joggers start coming out.

going for a night walk in about 20 minutes, want me to post pics?

Nightwalks are so relaxing, especially during spring and autumn where it's often chilly and raining.
You can walk for hours and never meet another person. Winter is fine to, but a bit too cold for my taste.
Summer walks are the most comfy but it won't be perfectly dark and you often meet other people.

I wanna start night walking after reading around this thread, but I just live in a weird little town in a fairly nice sub-division. I won't be able to sit on playground equipment or do any neat stuff. Kinda bums me out. I'm white but I live in the worst part of town. the neighborhood is full of mexicans and theres a homeless shelter up the street that acts as a hive for homeless people and they are always walking up and down the streets and leaving their shopping carts and trash everywhere

Night walking is my therapy, really.
I get lonely as hell and neurotic, so I wander around.
At one point, I visited an old neighborhood I used to live in at 3 AM or so, which was quite a walk, but I felt as though I needed to continue walking for whatever inexplicable reasoning. It may have been the weather.
Anyway, I've encountered a few things, I suppose. I've been followed a lot and am surprised I haven't been attacked.
I stumbled upon a dead female raccoon with her young still writhing within her.

Not quite walking, but one time I had to get to uni really early (5.30am). This was mid-autumn so it was still pitch-black at this time. I left my house at 5 and cycled in as usual. I went my normal route. I cycle down to the end of my street, and cut through an alleyway to get on to the next street.

As soon as I approached the end of the alleyway, I saw a motorbike with a massive bunch of neon lights and brooding music playing way too loud for any vehicle at any time of the day. It went along the next street, while I was still hidden on the shadows of the alleyway. My mind was rapidly going wtf, and then I saw the driver. It was someone in all-black leather, wearing a black helmet with an equally black visor. He was the only person I saw for the first half of my journey (a quiet suburban area).

I got a really creepy serial killer vibe from them. Their appearance looked like a costume a themed serial killer would were, e.g. the zodiac.
