It's incredibly gay, but it's not actually pushing some agenda by the jews like 4chan loves to claim.

It's just some harmless fun, and cute cartoon that warms my heart. Steven starts off pretty annoying, however it's him growing alongside the 3 gems taking care of him.

He's honestly the kindest main character in a cartoon I've seen in a while. For example, there is VERY little slapstick humour or anything that hurts the feelings of a characters for a "joke". Anything like that is done for a serious reason and is expanded on.

LITERALLY the nicest, most loving cartoon I've seen in a long long time. It's also pretty fucking funny and has lore. Character designs and "fusions" between different characters are also pretty cool.

Of course there's conflict between the Crystal Gems and the Home world gems.

Home World Gems tried to harvest Earth to birth more Gem creatures. While doing so, Rose Quartz decided that humans were worth saving because they were a beautiful race. They were able to love and show incredible emotion that a cold warring race like Gems couldn't understand.

Therefore, she decided to start the rebellion. In the end, she saved Earth but most of her friends and opposing Gems died in the war. Ever since then, she's been living on Earth with the 3 gems that have been posted in this thread.

She later fell in love with Greg and gave birth to Steven. In doing so, she had to give up her physically form and essentially "die". Steven feels inferior to the legacy his mother left behind and also feels guilty for killing of the Gem's dearest friend. Pearl, for example, cannot come to terms with Rose choosing Greg instead of her and abandoning her.

THERE IS SO MUCH CONFLICT AND STORY. I've barely explained anything. Shut the fuck up if you haven't watched the show.

Dead serious. They cancelled Moral Orel, after approving the script for the episode, because when they saw 3x04 "Alone" the producers just NOPED. The show was relatively costly to produce as it required actual large puppets and shit.

The first season largely establishes the setting, it doesn't do much story wise. Towards the end of season 2 is when stuff gets more interesting, with the finale pushing it over the edge. Season 3 is where the magic happens.

I'd recommend watching all of it, there is some good characterization that you can appreciate when it is fleshed out in later episodes. The episodes are short as hell, too.

But annoying fandoms ruin shit all the time for everybody. You can secretly enjoy a show in private no problem, but if the show has an autistic over obsessed fanbase, then you can never publicly admit you like it, which is hard when you want to discuss it.

For example, when I used to browse /co/, I loved Regular Show (still do t b h). One day I wanted to discuss Season 1, started a thread, and holy shit. 80% of the replies were furries discussing their ships, writing shit like >you will never rub mordo's big feathery butt while passionately kissing his long beak, and posting porn of mordecai and rigby. There were only a handful of people who actually wanted to talk about the show in general.

Flash forward to now where I'm actually excited for the new Disney movie Zootopia. I visited /co/ one more time to discuss the designs of the characters and fucking again, the thread was full of smut and fan fiction.

It doesn't necessarily change the fact that I'll like those things, but it makes it a lot harder to enjoy them with other people when they're only interested in talking about what a fictional character looks like naked, so it ends up being harder to enjoy certain things when you can't discuss a show without autistic fans coming in to ruin everything, and I can see how for some people that might make them hate a show for having a certain fanbase.

I would want the show to be exactly as it is now retaining all its innocence and friendliness, only using its adult rating for specific moments and never to be sexual. Steven Universe is not for sexual.

For example there's a scene where pearl gets really passionate about a fight and yells "IM GONNA KICK YOUR BUTT!". It sounds so awkward for an adult to get that riled up and say butt instead of ass. Also if a human gets hurt I'd want them to bleed, not so its super gorey, just realistic.
