I've met an autist with superior IQ and he understand people in a superior way to non-autistic people (he would never say something like that himself, it's something I've observed). He's probably in the 170+ range.

But there are also high IQ autist who never learn how to bridge that gap which is just sad feels. Some brain pathways enables you to ace IQ tests with little else to show, however. All in all, brain is fascinating.

The weird thing to understanding people is, you have to be able to understand people well yourself to be able to observe how well others to do.

There's not any way of proving it, I guess. It's just observing how he understands how people feel and think, why they behave as they do. How he was able to predict what individuals might become troublesome in what situations and why.
