Ye old classics and any books relating to natural disasters

And how-to books on shit I'll never need to know like how to work the real estate market or how to speak Polish or do differential calculus

Other than that, The Very Hungry Caterpillar whenever I can't fall asleep
>>
>>25551312
I do, why do you think I'm here?
>>
Mostly classics and modern era literature. Some critical theory here and there. Recently been reading a bunch of film criticism and autobiographies of filmmakers I like. Occasionally I read some sfi-fi or fantasy stuff for fun.

Mostly books about medieval warfare and history, and old paperback fantasy novels from the seventies and eighties (The more obscure or cheesy, the better).

I also read a lot of RPG manuals for games like D&D
>>
>>25551302
Define adventure because there's a fuckton of fiction about adventure but I need to know genres anon
>>
>To End All Wars
How is it OP? I almost picked it up the other day but decided against it (went with Max Hastings' Catastrophe instead).

Outside of the occasional WW1 book, I read books relating to either formal logic or semantics because I am the most autistic person on this board.

>>25551278
I like picking up used sci fi books based on the rad pictures on the covers but they usually end up being kind of terrible. I read a lot of manga and non fiction otherwise. Fiction novels get too feelsy for me to handle sometimes.

I read pretentious lit because it makes me feel more cultured than I really am.

NYBR, the Russians, etc.

I mostly read high fantasy and some light novels. I have an interest in history and strategy, but I haven't found a single book that's sucked me in like a fantasy book. "Absolute Monarchs" drew me in for a chapter or two until I realized I had no interest in the papacy. I also tried a book on Rome called "Rubicon", and a book about Genghis Khan called something like "Genghis Khan and the making of the modern world". Neither really caught my interest.

As for books and series I have read:
Overlord
Traitor Son Cycle
Black Company
Eli Monpress
Wheel of Time
Prince of Nothing
Stormlight Archive
Riyria Revelations
Gentlemen Bastards
Kingkiller Chronicle
Night Angel Trilogy
And probably some others, that's just what I have on my kindle at the moment.

Oh god yes.
I have a pretty mighty feeling these kinds of books are going to be pretty useful in the coming years

Is it silly to buy a physical copy of a book after reading and enjoying it on an e-reader?

I like a fantasy settings. Like going on an adventure with a group and traveling to different areas
>>

Nah m8. I still prefer to read physical. My eyes start to glaze over if I read in any digital format. Plus I like highlighting and making notes in my (non-fiction) books. I also find it easier ti flip between pages (to check end-notes, bibliography, etc.)

Glad I passed on it then. I'll see if my library has it since it still seemed like it covered a lot of good ground.

Is there anything worse than a dry history book? I can look at logic symbols all day and have a wonderful time, but dry presentation of history kills my soul.

I have mostly switched to ereader for better access to books. It gets frustrating when you want to read a book but no one carries it (amazon included). Usually you can find the digital version without too much trouble.

I read everything. Started with fantasy, sci-fi, general fiction, classics and have gone over to non-fiction lately, mostly crime related. Only thing I won't touch is politics. I hate politics.
>>
>>25554986
Currently reading book on Anders Behring Breivik. The book is meh and Breivik is less interesting a person than I expected. He's basically a narcissist with paranoid features. Not certifiably crazy though. And seems he was correct about islamisation of Europe, at least to some degree.
