Cowboy Bebop is a fantastic anime. It's one of my favorites. It's what got me into anime. However, now I'm disappointed. Almost everything else is fan servicing. I love Space Dandy, Trigun, Prison School (even if it was fan servicing, that was part of the joke), and a lot more.

Samuria Flamenco looked really promising in the first two episodes but now it seems like they're jumping on "cute 2d grills in costumes" fad that every fucking anime has. I'm gonna finish it out. Heard is was phenomenal.

this means that the other series they watch have a high likelihood of being terrible, with the result that cowboy bebop seems that much better in comparison
consider most pairings (x, Cowboy Bebop), CB is going to be much better almost all of the time
i guess it has an american feel to it, but that's not surprising considering two of its big motifs are cowboys and jazz
those are fine motifs, if a bit dated (but since CB is from the late 90s it's fine), and really say nothing about the quality of the show
