When I was a child playing in the trees with my friends, pretending the yellow leaves were gold coins. We would sneak knives from our houses to whittle sticks and make weaponry to fight imaginary beasts. We had a barter system in place so we could buy berries and slices if bread. That time has long passed

17, junior year of high school. so about 3 years ago

I had just started working a job, got my drivers license and a car, was getting good grades, made a lot of friends, saved a ton of money, wasn't into hard drugs yet, and my parents were proud of me. life was fulfilling and I thought I was on a good path. I actually had interests and things that I cared about.
I didn't have a very active social life like I do now, but I was happy. I woke up each day with optimism.

I wish I could go back
