Nah depression is worse than that. In fact you can get excited about things when you're depressed. It's a kinda shitty thing, too, cause any disappointment makes you feel like you wanna die.
Not caring is the opposite of depression.

like being sick but for you mind instead of your body
when you get it all you'll want is for it to go away
apathy can sort of be a side effect of depression though
like things that used to make you happy or sad don't any more when you get it
