Ok, I have a philosophy + romance question.
I'm the kind of guy that likes to do nice things for girls. In my mind, I figure if I get a prospective mate cute clothes, a new blanket, games on Steam, whatever, that this might ingratiate myself with them. I know you can't buy love, but I feel like it should set me apart from all the cheap chads that just want to shoot & scoot.
However.
It's come to my attention that this is not how the female brain works. The more work the woman puts into the relationship, the more she loves the man.
Thus the theory goes that if you want a girl to love you, you get HER to do shit for YOU. You give her tasks. You ask for favors. You make her expend energy for you.
This makes her start to think that in some way it's her job to take care of you. Any guy can get her gifts. Any guy can take her shopping. But she's the only person that can take care of YOU.
This is evident as a trope in all Japanese media. The man rarely does nice things for the girl, instead creating situations where the girl has to do things for him - leading to the woman inevitably falling for him.
What do you think of all this?
