For example, let's take geology. EVERY geology major has at least some interest in geology, maybe they want to become a geologist. They are interested in the course material.

Computer Science students aren't like that - the major has become nothing more than a "STEM business" major for 90% of the students inside of it.

Many people see CS as the fast track to an ok job, with a relatively high starting salary. If an "iPhone app development" course was offered over more real CS courses like efficient algorithms or computer security or something, people would take it

The same is true for premed students, they really couldn't give less of a fuck about their courses. They get As because they need As for med school, that's all.

In conclusion, they are fake, empty people who have no good reason to be in the degree they are in other than "I want to make ok money some day"
