Autists, have you ever told anyone outside your family you have autism? Did it change their perception of you? I'm always afraid of people finding out about me being autistic. I don't want to become "the autistic person." I don't want a stupid label thrown onto me that prompts everyone to treat me differently. I'm I being paranoid?

If you're at the more forgiving end of the spectrum (i.e can socialize to an extent, no spasms/epilepsies, no mental retardation), I don't think you have to because at that end of the spectrum, your autism is basically a part of your normal personality.
If you're on the less forgiving side, I'd say only bring it up if the topic is headed to autism-related stuff (especially if they're asking you why you're weird or something).
You don't have to do this, of course. But if it makes you feel better why not.

Hello fellow robros. I wanted to share with you an overview of our lives (or at least my life.) The constant crushing loneliness and crippling depression. Decades of women treating us like deformed monsters and repulsive outcasts.
If you cannot relate to the above, please do not comment in this thread. No normies allowed. Every other forum sans r9k caters specifically to normies and rejects robots, so it's perfectly acceptable for this board to reject normies, as this is our only solace.
Anyway, here's my overview, and if anyone wants to post their own overviews, I can add theirs in to make it more detailed.

The limbic system controls emotions, i.e. an overactive limbic systems causes incredibly intense feelings of loneliness, depression and suffering. Not to mention introversion and anxiety.
>Childhood: Relentless bullying. Absent father or abusive father.
>Teenage: Experience constant rejection and mistreatment from women due to them being attracted solely to the top 20% of males (verified in the study ran by Okcupid themselves.)
>Adulthood: At this point, most women have children, most normies have secure jobs, most everyone has social circles and life development. Robots like us are left with nothing.
>Suicide: Once our parents die, it's over. Our brain chemistry simply wasn't meant for living.

It's such an apt comparison. Imagine if dehydration didn't cause death or physical illness. We spend our whole lives watching all the normies drink water, often times being able to drink any beverage they like, while we suffer the misery of constant unbearable thirst. We're surrounded by drinks, but will never have the money to afford one.

Since I have autism, I tend to develop very intense, very singular interests. My mother was always so happy when those interests were literature or science or something "useful".
The past 3 years however? That interest has been Kung Fu Panda, it's currently my favorite thing in the entire world.
I still get kinda ashamed when my mother brings it up. She doesn't understand why I have posters and plushies and a pair of Po slippers. She tells me people must think I'm childish and immature.
But here's the thing, as odd as it sounds, this series has been a life saver for me. I've loved it since the very first movie came out but I just within the past three years REALLY got into it. The main character starts out hating himself and wanting nothing more than to change, then by the third movie he's made all his dreams and more come true. He didn't achieve success until he was an adult, which in the face of "your entire life depends on what and how you do as a teenager" is EXTREMELY encouraging. The movies show that no matter what you face, you can and WILL overcome it and come out stronger in the end. That's a lesson I keep trying to remind myself of, and it's kept me alive more than a few times.
On a more meta note, the series got me back into writing. That's one of the few things I've ever been any good at and I almost gave it up for good out of fear that I'd lost that talent. Then I started writing fanfiction. Not only did I rediscover my love for writing, I'm also considered one of the most decent TiPo authors on Tumblr.
And my mom's concern about everyone thinking I'm immature for liking it? No one I know thinks so. If I'm ever having a bad day, my roommate will sit down with me, my Po and Tigress plushies, lots of Dr. Pepper, and the second movie (my favorite!). I go to a small school so everyone knows me as that one girl who loves KFP. All of my friends know how personal the series is to me and they not only respect that, they're supportive of it.
