My very first semester we had to take an intro-to-the-department class, and one of the things you had to do was write a resume. That was the only actual assignment for the whole class, everything else was literally just showing up and listening to various speakers from around the college and some alumni. It was graded pass/fail and the guy running it told us the first day something to the effect of "this is the one freebie class you'll get"

I flunked it because my resume sucked. I had to go to some assistant dean to plead my case at the start of the next semester and he told me "I'm gonna change your grade just to get you out of my hair. But if you really have this little to put on a resume, you never should have been admitted."

There is no reason OP, no meaning or purpose. Death and suffering is so ingrained in us down to a cellular level that your very cells know you are dying and will suffer horribly, and thus they equip your ego with the only means of continuing your existence and avoiding complete oblivion: reproduction. But we won't even get to do that because our force of will isn't strong enough.

We suffer also because the will of life is conquer all other life until only it remains and removes all other opposing wills. Even bacteria acts out this grand scheme as does man. This in turn causes immeasurable suffering and therefore we can conclude that life itself is suffering and suffering is life. This will be so until the end of time for even when all opposition to the will of life is removed it will then suffer the stagnation that follows.

The only way not to suffer is to deny life and be submerged into the void where not even suffering remains.
