Hello everyone, it's another discord server thread.

There are a lot of these everyday and sorry for shitting up the board but if you'd like to post your server to talk to like minded people please feel free so we can all find a friend or two.

In the past few months, I've come to the realisation that I, on a daily basis, compulsively lie to my family and don't feel shameless about it. It's not even that I lie to hide something horrible that I've done; I'm a very clean person. It's just that I feel the need to hide my social life and true reflection from my family. Other times, I lie about things that are completely irrelevent and unimportant. I'll give you an example; a few days ago, I was planning a trip to go see Baby Driver and I told my Mom about this. When she asked me what the name of the movie, rather than just telling her, I said "oh, uhhh, I forgot the name of it but it's some action-y movie." I had no reason to lie yet for some reason I felt I had to lie to my own mother. I feel like part of it might be my mother's fault; she's raised me under this very strict and pedantic household and everything must be done her way. I couldn't even play "violent" video games until I was 13 and, even to this day, she's still convinced that Grand Theft Auto is a game that lets you rape people (as if any sane publisher on the planet would ever want to publish a rape sim). So, gradually, I starting finding ways to be sneaky and do what I want without an authoritarian figure dictating me. But this constant shadiness and willingess to hide my true self from my family without feeling remorse isn't how I want to live my life.

Long ramble but I'm just curious if anyone else has ever felt urge to irrationally lie. Pic unrelated.
