This may be controversial to those that are more active politically, but I feel like following the news is just designed to make people scared. Scared people are obedient and don't question things too much.

School is important but keep in mind, it just gives you your starting hand in a long and complex game. After that, the real work begins. So, play aggressively and have specific goals in your head.

This is a tough one, since my goal of eventually escaping work isn't what people normally mean when they ask for work advice. But, don't get too involved in politics and try to get along with people when you're there. The people that work best with others tend to get laid off last, even if they may not be as skilled as others.

Also, switch jobs often, like every two to three years. Every move should have an increase in pay.

The main point I have here is live small and invest aggressively. Pump as much as you can into low-cost index funds to start you off. Avoid high-interest debt like credit cards, but don't be afraid of favorable debt, like mortgages.

That being said, don't be in a super big hurry to buy a home, unless you know you'll be around for a while. And, if you've got the balls, buy a duplex, not a SFH. If you work it correctly, your renter will be paying most of your living expenses.

Ultimately, you should be working toward financial independence, where your investments pay most/all of your bills and your well being is independent of your job. Once you get older, you'll BE more stable but you'll FEEL less stable.

I got married late and I feel like that was a good choice. In your 20s to early 30s, you're still changing as a person and you don't know what you'll really be like. So, give yourself time to be on your own and discover what you want out of life.

It could also be that you'll never get married, and that's ok. Don't push things in that area, that will only make a hasty decision and could get you into trouble.

But, even if you find a good partner, you'll still be unhappy with it from time to time.
